Hi there, Welcome to Luna's page… I hope you enjoy my shawls and brooch pins. My nickname is Luna. I’m 51 years old. My dear eighteen year-old daughter, my husband and I live in a city as vivacious as my shawls: Istanbul. I used to teach at a private university as a lecturer of Stage Arts, until I had to retire early due to health problems. Thankfully I’ve recovered well and gotten the freedom to indulge in occupations that make me happy. Shawls have always been an indispensable part of women’s wardrobes in the city I grew up in. It's the symbol of elegance. If you were to come to Istanbul, I’d very much like to show you to the rare collection of antique brooches and shawls that used to belong to my grand mother. I remember watching my mother with keen interest as she painted, even when I was still a child. If a wedding took place near our neighborhood, our home would turn into a dress making shop, my mother being the craftswoman and we—as her three daughters—becoming her apprentices. She never ceased to add the finishing touch to her dashing dresses with an elegant shawl to wear upon shoulders and a precious brooch pin to either keep the shawl in place or add even more grace to the outlook the whole outfit exposed. Despite not being as talented as my mother, I’ve always found joy in producing things of my own. I especially like beading as well as embroidering and crafting bracelets of sorts. Making flowers from fabrics, too, is something I favor. And these are the reasons behind my decision of designing a brooch of my own. To be honest, I’d never have thought that there would come a time when I’d be here, selling my design works. It’s wonderful to be here… I wish you all a wondrous and happy life… "with love" LUNA
