Welcome to December and today's Chateau de Saint Genés du Retz Rustic Wedding. We are struggling to contain our excitement here at FWS now that we have entered the festive season! This month the aroma of hot mulled wine fills the air, mince pies adorn our tables and Christmas carols can be heard wherever you go (and one of our FWS team already has their tree up!!).

For now though, let's head back to summer to celebrate in a beautiful French garden. A garden wedding is always a good idea especially when the garden is bathed in beautiful French sunshine which this one certainly was, 40 degrees of sweet summer sun no less.

We are loving all of Pauline and Christophe's vintage touches, their personalities perfectly shine through each image captured by one of our very own FWS vendors Zephyr & Luna.

Now, here are a few words from our lovely bride Pauline about the best day of her life...

"When we decided to get married, Christophe and I imagined a summer wedding, rustic and warm. On the D-day, the temperature of the last days of August really helped us, because it was more than 40 degrees... and for the rustic side, our magnificent venue, the Domaine des Roses et des Tours, permitted us to set the scene of all our ideas: DIY, banners, lanterns, old objects...""We exactly lived the day we imagined, and even better!""We met between the two presidential elections of 2007, thanks to a common friend. We've been together for 7 years and with time, his friends became mine and vice versa. We like to party, we like to house friends, we like to share small and big moments of life with the people we love. It was important for us to be around this merry band and our close family. "Festivities started the day before, with the arrival of family and friends. We all had a finger in the pie to finalise the details of the decoration. We created a cozy and vintage feeling in the park of the domain and intimate in the reception room.""The thread of this soft weekend started to weave... we dined under the trees and played molky... I'll always remember this peaceful summer night, filled with laughter, warm and auspicious for the rest of this weekend!"

"Thank you for the wheel of Vanessa, the "contre en touche" of Pierrot, the surprise wedding of Mimi and Yvan, the help of our witnesses, the emotive presence of our parents, the investment of all the vendors..."

"And then D-day was here. It will always be, for me, a day out of time, that went so fast! (everybody told me!). I let myself be carried away from the morning to the end of the night. Nothing was calculated nor pretended. We laughed, cried, shivered, enjoyed and loved. It was an amazing day."
