Craig & Shelley's Rainy Estuary Hotel Wedding - Wedding Friends

Craig & Shelley's Rainy Estuary Hotel Wedding - Wedding Friends

via

Your special day can be as unpredictable as love itself. Craig and Shelley remained smiling and didn't let the rain disturb their union too much. The happy couple were married at the lush, Estuary Hotel.

Shelley shows off a beautiful bouquet, a combination of roses and vynbos with the protea as the centre piece. Proteas are a timeless choice for any South African bride.

Jacki Bruniquel photographed the undivinable wedding and captures the bride's joy beautifully.

Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

We first met as young teens, at a Youth club just outside of Durban. Being quite young we only dated for about 2 months, but we both left a lasting impression on each other often trying to get in contact, but to no avail. It was only many years later, in 2007, we made contact again on Facebook, and by this time we were on different sides of the globe, myself Australia and Craig London. More years passed & in 2010 I messaged Craig to say my contract on a cruise liner was coming to an end, would he like to meet up for a drink as I'd be flying via London? We met up and we've not been apart since :)

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

Craig arranged a holiday in Corfu, which wasn't unusual as we travel together a lot. After an amazing day exploring the island on a vespa, Craig suggested we walk along the beach at sunset to a local restaurant for dinner. We hadn't reserved anywhere so decided to sit to be sure not to miss the spectacular 180º sea view sun set over the horizon. Unbeknown to me he'd set a ring in the sand & waited patiently for my eye to catch it. When it did, I picked it up unaware what was going on, asked 'What's this', looked at him & for the 1st time realised what was happening.

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Walking down the aisle was definitely one of the most memorable experiences I've ever had. I was so nervous but the moment Craig and I looked at each other a wave of emotions swept over me... I couldn't hold back the tears of happiness.

I Quote | Describe in one sentence your wedding day

The best and most magical day of our lives spent with family and friends and filled with joy, laughter and lots of love.

Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides

When planning your wedding make sure you have support and help from your loved ones.
Try to get as much done at least a week before the wedding. The last thing you want to do is have to run around and stress yourself out the week leading up to your wedding. You'll be surprised how quickly the 'small' things can take much longer than you anticipated and those smaller touches can have a bigger impact on your budget than you think.
Share you vision with you bridal party and don't be shy to take them up on their offer to help.
