Bright, Bohemian Oregon Coast Wedding: Ellie + Cassady

Bright, Bohemian Oregon Coast Wedding: Ellie + Cassady

We were so happy to hear that today's bride, Ellie, claims GWS was one of her main sources of inspiration when planning her own nuptials! She shares, I love the spirit of DIY and the modern and bright aesthetic of the features! For our day, we drew inspiration from a couple of different places in particular...the desert lifestyle of the 70's and present day Ojai, California. We knew we wanted the experience to be something that not only reflected who we are and what we value as a couple, but also celebrated the community of creative friends and supportive family that we are so lucky to go through life with.

So, they set out to design their perfect day in the sand dunes at Nehalem Bay State Park in Nehalem, Oregon. With a one-of-a-kind dress combination, stunning florals by Melissa Cushman Floral Design, and an overall intimate, meaningful vibe, we're pretty proud to say that Ellie + Cassady were inspired by GWS, and hope some of you can find inspiration from their beautiful day!

Thanks to James Moes for the gorgeous photos!

Ellie's "dress" was actually a combination of two! The top is a peice by Stone Cold Fox (hand-dyed by Ellie) + the skirt is by Carol Hannah, scooped up at Lovely Bride! If you were eyeing her cute fringe booties, too, those beauties are by Rachel Comey.

That wild bouquet, comprised of anemones, pods, eucalyptus, fern, protea + more, is kind of winning us over right now!

There were bittersweet moments during the ceremony acknowledging the loved ones who couldn't be with us. My best friend, Lauren, had passed away just weeks before Cassady proposed, and she was what we called my "celestial maid of honor" for the day. Cassady's mother was also unable to be there for the ceremony, as she was too ill to travel from Colorado. But, through the support of those who were able to be with us as we made our lifelong vows to each other, the day was still as bright at beautiful as we could have hoped.

Ellie was a DIY bride through + through, stating, When it came to the dinner decor and place settings, I hand-dyed all 100 cloth napkins for our guests in bright pink dye using the classic Japanese shibori technique. Each napkin was topped with a colorful geode slice and a place setting tag which I did the calligraphy for. I also dip-dyed all the creme burlap tablecloths in a dreamy seafoam blue. For me, planning became a second job that always kept me busy!

E + C say, After the dinner and teary speeches, we all made our way into town and had an epic dance party at our "after party" reception. It was a full and eventful day, we made some memories to last a lifetime with all of the people we love most!

Congrats to you both on such a beautiful day!
