Swedish-born Erik Torstensson and Jens Grede started Frame Denim with the notion that what the world needed was a sort of boutique denim brand. A small, knowable label producing American-made jeans and pairings with big ideas and an even greater sense of style. And the world responded. Frame's quick-rising star made it one of the most covetable lines in its category, and Torstensson and Grede's spring direction makes for a mighty covetable collection.

Meet the designers and find out what's behind their globally chic, beach-ready looks.

"Spring is of course a continuation of what we're doing for fall," Grede told me just moments before Frame's presentation opened up to buyers and editors.

"We live in a sort of '70s aesthetic, and for this collection we had the idea of an American going to Europe and the Mediterranean-the Cote d'Azur and the Amalfi Coast and so forth," he continued.

"It's about how you would dress when you take American sportswear to those places in the '70s, when they were still a mix of bourgeois and artists and rockers."

We're down with that for sure. Send us a postcard, huh?
