Model Citizen: How to Look Like a Model Off Duty

Model Citizen: How to Look Like a Model Off Duty

In the '90s, we saw the meteoric rise of "the supermodel." Names like Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and Naomi Campbell seemed to be the center of every conversation and their faces graced the cover of every magazine. The world was completely fascinated by these tall, flawless women who made a pair of jeans look like haute couture. The spotlight has shifted in the early millennium, and now it seems the age of "the supermodel" has returned thanks to a fresh new crop of faces like Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Karlie Kloss. These pretty young things have us all mesmerized with their flawless complexions and chic style - on and off the runway. We wouldn't mind channeling some of that perfection, so we enlisted the help of makeup pro Marygene Rose and LA-based fashion blogger Caitlin Chapman of Caitlin Confidential to show us how to achieve the perfect off-duty model look! Take it away ladies!

Step 1: Apply a lightweight primer with a shimmery or radiant finish, like L'Oréal Paris Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer.

Step 2: Using a beauty blender or foundation brush, blend a light, illuminating foundation onto the face and neck. Blend it in well to make sure there's no streaking!

Step 3: Cover up any blemishes, spots or dark circles with your go-to concealer and blend it in well.

Step 4: Prep the eyelids with a concealer or eye primer (like Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion).

Step 5: Apply highlighter to the cheekbones, brow bone, Cupid's bow and tip of the nose. You can use a liquid formula like Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer or powder-based product like The Body Shop Honey Bronze Shimmer Waves in Apricot.

Step 6: Lightly contour your face by brushing a contour powder or matte bronzer (try NYX Matte Bronzer) along the hollows of the cheeks (working it up to the temples) and along the jawline.

Step 7: Dust a shimmery, caramel-colored eye shadow on the eyelids, working the color up to the crease. Buff it out slightly just past the crease.

Step 8: Take a brown shadow with orange undertones and brush it along the upper and lower lash lines, as well as the outer corners of the eyes. Finish off with your fave mascara!

Step 9: Brush out your brows and fill them in lightly so they look natural and full. Try using a super slim "brow liner" like Lancôme Les Sourcils Definis.

Step 10: Wrap up the look with a pinkish-nude lip gloss or shimmery lipstick (try em Michelle Phan Lip Gallery Creamy Color Sheer Lipstick in One True Kiss).
