Over twenty years ago, Collin and I (Anna) met in Munich Germany. It was love at first sight. I moved to Laguna Beach (from Holland), and we got married in Las Vegas at the "Little Chapel of the West" with our 2 Newfoundland dogs as our witnesses. Our honeymoon lasted 6 weeks driving throughout the US, we even got chased by bison in the Bad Lands of South Dakota! Regretfully we don't have any pictures of our wedding and only a couple from the honeymoon. It didn't seem important back then, but now, 20 years later it is. This shouldn't happen to you!

Before becoming photographers, we had careers in Fashion, traveled the world and were exposed to working with the best in the business; top designers, make up artists, stylists, as well as top fashion photographers. We saw first hand how they worked technically, but more importantly how they were able to bring out people's true spirit, directing in an unobtrusive way, the sense of style and composition, and when to push the button at the right moment. This priceless education has helped us tremendously with our own photography careers.

Collin started shooting weddings in the late nineties. It was a different time before digital cameras and a lot less photographers. The Ritz Carlton offered him a contract to be their "in house" photographer, but it was with too many restrictions. He declined and with a degree in finance he started a whole different path for 10+ years that had nothing to do with photography.

I continued to travel, but it all changed when our son was born and I started dabbling with photography. It wasn't however until we had a daughter in 2005 that I got very serious about it, and mainly shot family- and kids portraits. I made Laguna Beach and Southern California work for me as it's one of the most beautiful locations in the world. More importantly however, I wanted to bring new life to portrait photography with a lifestyle and candid approach.

After successfully building up a client base, I convinced Collin to pick up his camera again too, and "Goddard Studios" was born.

Now at present day, we thoroughly enjoy what we do and all the aspects of all the different photography services we offer, from baby photography, to kids, to families, to head-shots, fashion, engagements, weddings, sports, commercial, you name it. Our work has been published in Ceremony Magazine, Style Me Pretty, Aroos Magazine, Brides Magazine, Modern Luxury Bride and many more publications.

We challenge ourselves every day, strive to become better, think outside the box, approach each shoot with new inspiration and goals, use our worldly knowledge, and love giving our clients the pictures they deserve to have; a treasure for life that will be seen by generations to come.
