Belle Bride Hollie C - getting married in 2015!

2015 is going to be a wonderful year and no more so than for FWS Belle Bride Hollie C as she is getting married in 2015! If you've missed any of Hollie's roller coster of wedding planner you can c atch up with Hollie C here.

Let's catch up with Hollie and see how everything is going: "Happy New Year everyone or should I say Bonne Année

I hope you all had a wonderful festive period, Mat and I spent it at home with family and friends, and plenty of delicious food and wine. Getting back into a good routine of healthy food and exercise will definitely be one of my January priorities, as we begin to countdown to the big day.

Speaking of priorities, now that I can finally say "I'm getting married this year"it's time for me to get focused on the "wedding to-dos"that I need to tick off in the next couple of months.

I'm a bit of a "to-do-list-a-holic" so I've put together a rough timeline of what I need to do and when.

There are loads of resources online that give you a guide of when things need to be done, however things are slightly different when you're planning a destination wedding, especially in France where the pace is much more laid back than here in the UK.

I found this timeline from You and Your Wedding Magazine to be a good starting point, but more relevant to planning a wedding in France; the Wedding Planners we're using Haute Weddings, posted a really helpful timeline on their blog recently and as you can see with the exception of the South of France the bulk of the planning really only begins 12 months in advance.

And there's an interesting point towards the end, that hadn't occurred to me until I read it and that is to make sure you've made arrangements for any cash payments / tips on the day, so I've added that to my list of things to prepare before we fly.

So using these, I've put together my own little timeline to help me keep on track, no doubt I'll add to it and swap things around but I certainly feel a bit more organised and confident that I have things under control now I've done it.

So what exactly is on my list?

First up, as Chamonix gets busy during the summer months, we've made the most of time at home over Christmas to find and book our pre-wedding accommodation and flights.

We will arrive in Chamonix on the Monday before our wedding on the Saturday giving us the whole week to make any final arrangements, including final hair and make-up trials and a visit to the venue.

But mostly we want to use this time to settle into the Chamonix vibe to make sure we can be properly rested and ready when the big day arrives.

Our pre-wedding accommodation is a Chalet courtesy of Nomadic Ski (http://www.nomadicski.com) and if you're planning a trip to Chamonix we would also recommend a company called Chamonix All Year who we've used for our last two visits.

We won't be travelling alone as my parents and Bridesmaid, Steph will also be coming with us on the Monday, followed by Mat's parents on the Wednesday so there'll be lots of people on-hand to help with any preparations and giving us all the opportunity to enjoy Chamonix together.

Booking the travel arrangements has been an exciting step - it certainly helps to make it all feel that little bit more real. Although it has to be said Mat and I haven't booked our flights home yet, as we had always planned to stay on for a week after the wedding for a mini-moon although as yet we can't make our minds up where to go.

Should we stay in France? Maybe explore some more of the Alps - Annecy for example looks stunning and is only an hour away from Chamonix. Or perhaps we'll take a road trip through the Mont Blanc Tunnel and into Italy or Switzerland - finalising our "mini-moon"is definitely on the to-do list for the next few weeks.

Other to dos include booking our Wedding Night accommodation, as well as travel and accommodation for our photographer Tarah Coonan and making plans for a musician / singer for the ceremony and cocktail hour.

Next weekend, Steph, my Bridesmaid and I are getting together to have our first official planning meeting - so we'll be talking Bridesmaid dresses and accessories as well as looking at possible Hen Party dates.

I don't know what it is about the Hen Party but even as I'm typing this my tummy is dong flips, as though the Hen Do is the ultimate confirmation that yes, I am actually going to be getting married - both exciting and nerve-wracking in equal measure!

So despite a slight panic as 2015 arrived at the amount still left to do, by just spending a little bit of time making a simple list with some rough timings has really helped me to feel a lot more organised and although it's going to be a busy few months, I intend to enjoy every second of planning our Wedding Day in the French Alps.

A bientôt x
