Wedding Favor Bags and Boxes

Gumballs and keychains and popcorn, oh my! No matter what you have selected as your wedding favor, now it's time to find something to put these little treasures in. When trying to find the perfect wrap or container, remember to keep in mind the theme of your wedding (since these will often be put at each place setting) and the size of your favor. If your favor is bulky and heavy, an envelope like the one above just won't work. This modern geometric envelope is perfect for something small and loose, such as hard candies or flower seeds.

Muslin bags (like the cute fall-themed one below) are a bit sturdier than paper and allow for more loose items to stretch the corners. This is great for storing chocolates, potpourri, or a small votive candle.

Of course, you don't always need to hide the best part. This tasty s'mores package (below) is stored in a cellophane bag and tied with a personalized tag. Believe me, no one is going to leave behind this delicious DIY kit at your wedding.

Speaking of sweet and enticing, if you are serving a snack or dessert favor, make sure to broadcast it. These fun Kraft paper bags embrace the theme of their respective weddings, while also announcing that sugar can be had. Above, serve cookies in romantically scripted bags during a vintage affair. Below, if you are having a modern wedding and haven't chosen your favor yet, have you considered donuts?

If your favors are very small and you don't want to risk them getting lost, affix a cellophane bag to a larger card, like the example below. These seeds look much more impressive on this piece of card stock than they would on their own. You could use this same idea for popcorn kernels or lucky trinkets.

Don't overlook a classic. Simple favor boxes with your own personalized sticker are staples for a reason. They can hold just about anything and you can give a nod to your wedding colors with a ribbon or bow (below, left).

If your favors don't need a box, or you just don't want to hide them in one, use a tag. These heart-shaped birdseed wedding favors (below, right) are eco-friendly and very pretty.

Depending on how you arrange your tables and whether or not you are using chargers, you can place your favors in a variety of different places near each setting. Above, this attractive box and tag pep up the table decor. If this couple were using chargers, they could place it right on top.

If your favor is something small, but solid, like a wish or affirmation stone, use a tiny colorful matchbox-style container. These bright and festive boxes (below) pack quite a punch and would fit right in at an Indian wedding.

Keep those kiddos busy with favor bags just for them. Fill these activity-themed paper bags (below) with crayons, candies, and small toys, and they will keep themselves happily entertained during the ceremony or reception.
