July is our month of 10 lists! Why? Because we know you love them. This week is an extra fun one - party music!

You might be hiring a DJ or band for your wedding, or you may be playing your own DJ through iPod or smartphone and speakers. Regardless, you'll want to give the hired wedding DJ or band some direction for tunes you like (and, perhaps more importantly, songs you do NOT like) or come up with a playlist of your own that rocks the house.

Who wants a wedding where everyone sits at his or her reception tables the whole time? Uh, no one. We will go on the record to say that there isn't a bride and groom on the planet who would want their wedding to be stiff and boring. And, as far as your guests go, they either want to get up and DANCE (WOOHOO!) or they want to at least watch the other dancers having fun and making fools of themselves (in a good way, of course).

Some brides will even say that they remember the song that got the party started, but not the song they danced with their groom or dad to. Whoopsie! But that just shows that this kick-starter song is mucho important-o and sets the vibe for the rest of the day or evening.

Okay, so now that we have the importance of this song established, we will recognize that not all musical tastes are the same. What we may think is the super-coolest wedding dance song of all time might make you roll your eyes or cover your ears (hope not J). The following is a sa-weet mix of various genres of music, new and old and older, for wedding dance songs to get the party started, and hopefully one of them is spot-on for your reception or at least will inspire you to come up with the song that works perfectly for your dance party.
