There are only a few days left before your big day - hoorah! You have your wedding checklist of last-minute to-dos and are checking it twice. Now also consider the things to avoid the week before your wedding that could sabotage all your hard work leading up to it. Here are 10 things not to do the week before your wedding.

1. Overloading on to-dos. Try to plan ahead so that most tasks are done BEFORE the week leading up to your wedding. And if your list is still significant and overwhelming, don't micromanage it - instead, start delegating to your wedding planners, bridal party and family.

2. Eating comfort foods. Hey, we get it - the week leading up to your wedding may be stressful and so, naturally, you gravitate toward comfort foods, like chips. But you've worked so hard at the gym, and your dress fits perrrrfectly, so why make yourself feel uncomfortable with the inevitable food bloat that comes from the fried and salty?!

3. Drastic hair changes. Do not...and we repeat...do not change your hair colour or cut drastically the week before your wedding. You'll want to have picked out our colour and cut months in advance to prepare your locks for the wedding. You don't want to chance not liking the new 'do or it not going with your dress neckline, veil, jewellery, etc. that you've painstakingly selected.

4. Spray tanning. If you have been getting spray tanned for some time now and have the routine down and have a place that you go that does it perfectly, fine, but still proceed with caution. Otherwise, novice spray tanners should know that a few things could happen: It might not look right (like, it could be more orange than brown), it might rub off on your wedding dress (yikes!) or it could fade and become splotchy in places by the time you walk down the aisle. Our vote: go natural.

5. Working out too hard. Keep your workout routine going, if you can, but don't do anything out of the ordinary or push yourself too hard right now. You don't want to be sore on your wedding day!

6. Dieting. The week is stressful enough as it is - don't put yourself through a juice cleanse or anything depriving you of regular meals. You need your energy and to have your "game face" on - no one likes a cranky bride J Stick to regular, healthy meals and lots of water, which will also make your skin look fabulous.

7. Getting a facial. Any good aesthetician would advise you to avoid facials, facial peels, microdermabrasion, Botox and any other type of face treatment the week before your wedding. These treatments can cause your face to become red and flaky, and potentially break out. Get them at least two if not three weeks in advance.

8. Staying up late. Again, you need your energy for your to-do list, to entertain guests and to enjoy your wedding events to the fullest. Plus, you don't want to get sick the week of your wedding! Try to get really good sleep this week and don't stay up all night working on guest gift bags or going out on the town.

9. Fighting with family. Tensions running high? Keep your cool. The last thing you want for your wedding day is for there to be a silly family quarrel going on. Attempt to be on your best behaviour, even if your mother-in-law is not!

10. Not stopping to enjoy the moment. At some point, you just need to LET IT GO. Forgetaboudit all! The day is going to be perfect. All of these people around you have come to celebrate you. Stop what you are doing. And enjoy. Live in the moment and be present as much as you possibly can during this whirlwind week.
