"Nathan and I met through his sister, Stephanie, and it didn't take long for us to realize that we were better together," explains Amber.

Amber Klein and Nathan Pops, June 8, 2013, Springfield, Manitoba.

The couple's relationship flourished over many late-night crib games and long walks in the park, so when it came time for Nathan to pop the question it's no surprise that he chose Winnipeg's Kildonan Park as his proposal venue. "As we were strolling under the stars, we reminisced about the summer evening over a year before, on which we walked the same route," says Amber. "Nathan suggested that we hop a low wall and explore a deserted outdoor theatre. I agreed and we made our way to the large dark stage. The moon lit up the massive theatre as we stood alone together on the stage. As I turned to look at Nathan, I found him down on one knee with a headlamp shining on the beautiful ring in his hand. He asked me to marry him, and without delay, I said 'yes!" exclaims Amber.

Friends and family members pitched in to help bring Amber's "country vintage" wedding theme to life. Nathan's mother even baked the couple's stunning wedding cake. "My mother-in-law makes cakes as a hobby and designed one that incorporated my love for flowers and the pastel seersucker fabric from the bridesmaids' dresses," says Amber. "It was a coconut pound cake with vanilla icing because that's Nathan's favorite."

The couple opted for a pastel blue, yellow, pink and green colour palette with burlap and crochet accents for their reception. "All of the candles, doilies, apothecary bottles, vintage fabric, Mason jars and silver trays were thrifted over the months leading up to our wedding," explains Amber. "It was amazing to see my vision finally come to life as all of the details were brought together on the tables."
