Oh my! I have a sneaking suspicion that you are going to fall in love with this afternoon's wedding - that of Jacqueline and Joe who married on Lusty Beg Island amidst the backdrop of New Year's revelries.

For a start Jacqueline is BEAUTIFUL with delicious bridal accessories to match - I mean you just can't help but gawp at her super sparkly Gucci shoes in awe. But that's not all!

I adore pretty much EVERYTHING in this wonderful 'I do' from the illustrated stationery to the super chic bridesmaid dresses from BHLDN all the way through to the epic portrait shots by the Guinness sign and the dapper men in tweed. And you need to check out the ceiling accessories adorning the pair's wedding reception - now that's how to drape paper chains in style.

Jacqueline The Bride:We got married on the 30th Dec so a New Year's weekend was the perfect excuse to keep the party going. We were so lucky so many of our family and friends came, and luckily the weather didn't stop everyone getting there.

As I'm a shoe designer my outfit had a lot of expectations. Luckily I work on Portobello Road surrounded by amazing shops. I went straight to Jane Bourvis who has the most incredible vintage dresses and unsual pieces she had collected. I thought I would pick something vintage for sure, but I couldn't resist a massive layered tulle skirt that was just sitting on the side. She had sourced it from Japan, it was amazing, I fell in love! It was the right tone of silly and fun but elegant and tasteful. I had the skirt cut above the ankle and a delicate beaded top made by Lili and her mother, an amazing team at Finiks near Shepherds Bush.

My veil was actually my mums; it had a beaded Juliette cap and after getting it reshaped it was perfect! It was lovely being able to wear something my mum had worn and I think it meant a lot to my parents also.

My gold and pearl shoes were from Gucci. Simply AMAZING! I found them when I was researching/ shopping in New York, and I have never seen them since. I've convinced myself there's only a few pairs out there.

Joe wore a navy three piece suit from Paul Costelloe; he liked the idea of wearing an Irish designer accessorised with beautiful two tone brogues from Gensen and finished off with his Grandpa's pocket watch. We were keen to avoid the traditional wedding look for a groom, and have a more modern look that Joe felt comfortable in.

I have always loved the Loughs of Fermangh, I miss it when I'm in London. It's so beautiful and peaceful, if I was getting married at home I had to be a close to it as possible. Joe loves it too. I especially wanted our guests from all over to see Fermanagh. We chose Lusty Beg Island for this reason and it has lots of lodges and cabins so all our guests could be together for the few days. It was absolutely perfect.

From the outset, we really wanted to treat the wedding as a party as opposed to a formal event. The general focus of the wedding was to make it as fun as possible for our family and friends who had travelled so far, we wanted to create a party atmosphere for them as well as us. Initially there was no theme, but we've always been drawn to silly/ slightly novelty things, so we ended up with an adult Santa's grotto mixed with a woodland. I had to hold myself back in the end, I could have gone so much further. Lucky I didn't as we spent two days decorating with 300 meters of fairy lights, 300 meters of paper chains, 270 paper balls and pom poms, disco balls and woodland animals, sequin curtains and flowers. We were so lucky to have little helpers...could not have done it without them!

I drew the designs for the save the date/ invite/ order of service and thank you cards, they all focused on the winter woodland idea. My great friend Gareth a graphic designer made them and coloured them in. I am eternally grateful to him, it saved us so much money.

I absolutely LOVE flowers, my Nanny was a brilliant gardener so hopefully I get it from her. I was initially worried that the timing would make it difficult but everything I wanted I was able to get hold of. My wish list included Anemones, Paperwhites, Astrantia, Steel Berry, Astilbe, Waxflower, Thistle and Eucalyptus.

We had these flowers in the bouquets and in hundreds of jam jars, sherry glasses and vases on each table. My sister and I made flowers arrangements at the speed of light and my Mum also made large arrangements for the Church. Bernie McGarry from McGarry Flowers made the bouquets and button holes.

The bridesmaids wore navy mid length dresses from BHLDN. This took me the longest to do out all the planning. I hate bridesmaid dresses, but these were perfect. Not too bridal and definitely good to party and dance in. The shoes were made by a factory I work with, they did a beautiful job! The groomsmen all looked dapper in tweed jackets and navy wool trousers both from Next.

The ceremony was held at the Christ Church Maguiresbridge, my family and I have attended this all my life and my sister was also married here so it was nice to be able to do the same. We chose hymns that were both English and Northern Irish; it was important to us to represent both sides.

We found the most truly stunning 1950's black Austin Westminster car from Unity Wedding Cars it was a perfect fit with our outfits and added some glamour!

We chose the DJs after much internet exploring. As we live in London, it wasn't easy to find something that we were happy with as we weren't able to check anyone out in the flesh in advance. Joe is really into his music so it wasn't a case of anything will do. Joe eventually stumbled across Bespoke Music Solutions by chance, and lucky we did. They offer something slightly different to the normal cheesy wedding band / DJ, in that they play an array of Northern Soul, Motown, alternative and pop, that kept the dance floor full from start to finish. They were absolutely brilliant, I would more than recommend them.

As it was December we knew we had to make sure everyone was warm and fed well, when everyone arrived back to Lusty Beg Island we had soups, mulled wine, prosecco, shortbread.

We were truly lucky to have wonderfully talented Sharon Kee as our photographer for the wedding. She captured the true essence of what we tried to create on the day and they are shots that we will always treasure and have to look back on in the future. She made us feel completely at ease on the day and was truly creative in her ideas for shots. She even noticed a Guinness door of the local pub in Maguiresbridge that I had never looked twice at. We had incredible shots here, lots of people even thought we went to Dublin to get them!

We were delighted with our filmmaker Cinematic Tide. Once again, they seemed to understand what we were trying to achieve on the day and that was brilliantly recreated in the film that they produced. They are so friendly and helpful, we only decided the day before the wedding to have a video and they made it happen. We are so grateful they could, having seen the video now its priceless to us! Craig who filmed us was so sweet and fun, we were sorry to see him go. (Video: http://vimeo.com/87109314)

Now that is all over and behind us, I think we did a pretty good job. I would definitely say to make the day your own, by filling it with your personality and things you like. Look after your guests, they are there to celebrate with you after all.
