{I Propose} - Elaborate on how the two of you met or on how the proposal went down.

Shaun and I met at a friend's house in February 2000 when we were both in high school. We started dating straight away and have been together for the past 14 years (and half my life!). I suspected a proposal when Shaun 'won a lucky draw at work' where the 'prize' was a weekend away. He kept the venue a surprise and I only found out where we were going when we drove a few kilometers down the road, and then pulled up in the driveway of The Oyster Box Hotel in Umhlanga - my favorite place! He kept it all on the down-low and we decided to have a drink or two at the hotel's bars and enjoy the sunset. When we arrived back at the hotel room to get ready for dinner, the room had been decorated with rose petals, champagne and strawberries and he promptly dropped to one knee and proposed.

{Bride & Prejudice} - Express some memorable experiences you had during the planning.

We were fortunate enough to have Kate Bain from The Wedding Company as our wedding planner, so we could pick and choose what we wanted her to plan and she did the rest. Shaun and I spent a fair amount of time designing and making our invitations, creating little cupcake toppers, and sanding and painting signs for the menus and lawn games. Our families helped a tremendous amount with their emotional and financial support, the preparation and the hard labour. We were so lucky to have such understanding and accommodating bridesmaids and groomsmen - we couldn't have done all the planning without them!

{My Fair Wedding} - Describe an event that you feel was unique or even funny.

"Conventional" is not a word we would use to describe our wedding. There were no set table places, a three course menu or a set agenda. We wanted the freedom to enjoy the day and mingle with our friends and family as if we were guests at our own wedding. We will always treasure the love, generosity, good wishes and lasting memories that our guests helped us create. We decided on a cocktail type wedding with various different seating areas and a portable dining experience where waiters brought around trays of food with different nibbles to suit the different courses. Our incredible wedding planner, Kate Bain understood our muddled ideas, and we can't thank her enough for realising our dream wedding better than we could have imagined.

{Don't Tell The Bride} - Reveal something that happened behind the scenes.

Shaun and I had such fun driving around the farm for our creative photo shoot with the photographer. The groomsmen had stocked the car with craft beer and so we zooted around from place to place, sipping on beer and listening to loud music.
