Mura and Zachary's multicultural celebration highlighted the bride's Afghan heritage, and the duo's love for nature and each other. "It is tradition that the mother of the bride decorates the tables for both Afghan ceremonies—the nikah and the Aaina Mussaf (mirror ceremony)," Mura explains. "For the Aaina Mussaf, the table was adorned with items to be used—treats to eat and drink, a Koran, a mirror that was specially made for us abroad (that no one else had ever looked into), and henna."
