Letting go of 2018 & ushering in 2019 ✨It can be all too easy to scroll through IG and think that everyone else had perfect 2018, but we're going to keep it real & admit that 2018 was downright HARD. There was a difficult low that simmered below the surface throughout the entire year for our family. We took a few risks in the business - one did not pay off in any way, one broke even, and one made its way into the "highs" for the year. And don't even get us started on the continued ongoing drop in engagement on social media. We love sharing the art of modern pointed pen with so many of you, but the lack of engagement is discouraging and emotionally taxing. The people who do comment and let us know the content is helpful for them are the main thing keeping us here. The other is that I just love calligraphy & enjoy having a place to share my work & offerings & keep an ongoing photo journal of what's happening in the LHC biz. - We did have highs of course, and we are so, so grateful for those to help keep us going...here are a few to celebrate as we head into a new year: ✨ We launched a brand new website that not only looks beautiful {thank you Molly!}, but it is also streamlined and provides a much better checkout experience for our customers making it even easier for you guys to get the best calligraphy supplies & online learning content. We are ecstatic with the result from @kjwebproductions. ✨ We hired our new office assistant Caroline, & she has far surpassed our hopes for a new hire. ✨I attended the @iampethofficial conference for the first time after being a member for years & was asked to return as a speaker in 2019. ✨ We presented at @theschoolofstyling {and of course got in a mini calligraphy lesson, too!}, met wonderful group of fellow female entrepreneurs and were asked to come back in 2019, yay! - So whether 2018 was your best year yet, one of the lowest, or somewhere in between, the good news is we've made it to a new year & we celebrate that with each of you.
