When we receive weddings from Robbins Photographic, with Liz Linklater at the helm of planning & styling - we just know that they are going to be epic, and once again the two have brought Yvonne & Jimmy's stylish vision for their big day to life perfectly.

Think industrial spaces, wild flower filled troughs, a rainbow ribbon installation, relaxed trestle table dining and the best of London's street food all rolled into one. And if that wasn't enough (!) Yvonne is wearing Rime Arodaky, French design Queen of fun and flirty wedding dresses and has the prettiest, most colourful bouquet of dreams. The Venue

Yvonne The Bride: We both really wanted a city wedding so we decided to combine our two favourite cities, Dublin (my hometown) and London. Following a very intimate family-only ceremony in Dublin's Shelbourne Hotel followed by dinner and a Chinese tea ceremony the previous weekend, we wanted something totally different for our 'London wedding'! Early in the planning process we sat down and thought of all the ideas we liked and what we envisioned for our wedding. We love London's East End and the stark contrasts it can bring. We thought it could be interesting to contrast some of our ideas so we came up with the plan to bring the outdoors indoors by creating a colourful meadow within a bare urban warehouse. We wanted to create the feeling of lots of colour and energy and make it as fun and relaxed as possible for our guests.

The Planning

We both have very busy and demanding jobs and realized early in the process that we wouldn't be able to do this alone (dry hire is hard work!) so we hired a wedding planner, Liz Linkleter, and she couldn't have been more perfect for the job. She instantly understood our vision and executed it with impressive detail however we still managed to be heavily involved in the planning, design and DIY for the day.

The Dress

I fell in love with the French designer Rime Arodaky when I was choosing my dress. I loved the more modern style of her dresses and felt that the dress I chose matched perfectly with the relaxed feel of the day! I wore a stunning diamond necklace and earrings that had been given to me as a wedding present by the groom's parents. We chose simple navy dresses for my two sisters who were the bridesmaids. We all wore different vintage gold bangles which I had collected and engraved to remember the day. Jimmy and the groomsmen all looked very sharp in navy tweed suits.

The Ceremony

We had a humanist blessing ceremony in the beautifully crumbling St Leonard's Church in Shoreditch, performed by a family friend of ours. The ceremony was so beautiful and simple - with friends and family reading poems and passages that we had carefully selected and our friend Michael played the guitar and sang. I walked down the aisle to the theme tune from 'True Romance' (one of our favourite movies) and we left the church to Dusty Springfield's 'I Only Wanna Be With You' blasting and the sound of the church bells ringing throughout East London. It was pretty fab!

The Reception

Our guests were then transported to The Oval Space in red buses and greeted with some Hendricks cocktails and acoustic swing music on the terrace overlooking Bethnal Green's gasworks. Kerb provided street food throughout the day starting with canapé-portions from Donosita Social Club and Mother Flipper, including scallops served in their shells with green chilli sauce and slider-size burgers with candy bacon.

We later moved into the main space and were greeted with a mass of colour and texture - astroturf, real Silver Birch trees, picnic lounge areas, a multi-coloured ribbon canopy covering the entire ceiling, a grass-green bar and rustic multi-coloured wooden furniture. Liz Linkleter and her team of helpers hired, made and decorated everything, and the ribbon canopy was by brilliant set designer Andy Tomlinson. We hadn't seen it all decorated until then and it was spectacular! So much fun and energy filled the room.

The Florals

We didn't really have a colour scheme - we just wanted the venue to be as bright as possible! I love bright yellows and oranges and wanted to continue the meadow feel with our flowers. Our florist Cressida Jamieson was incredibly talented and was key in bringing that meadow feel to the venue - she filled bespoke troughs and lined the tables with wild flowers, including daisies, fox gloves, lupins, buttercups and cow parsley. I was in love with my colourful bouquet. She also decorated our incredible cake that Jimmy's sister had made.

The Party

There was no shortage of food or drinks! The bar was stocked with local craft beers and cider and bespoke cocktails. As a lover of gin, I had a lot of fun putting together a separate 'self-serve' gin bar with a range of different and interesting gins for our guests to try. Waiters served street food from the stalls set up at the back of the space including Southern-style BBQ from Miss P's, Korean burritos from Kimchinary and meatballs from The Bowler. The food was incredible!! A local gelato shop Gelatorino served ice-cream and sorbet for dessert.

The DJ started after dinner and the party continued late into the night! We had the best day of our lives - it couldn't have been more perfect.
