In case you've missed any of her previous posts ( catch up on the deliciousness here), Jaclyn Campbell from Ivory & Rose Cake Company is our resident cake columnist, who is guiding us through the most chic looks and tastiest toppings for 2014 Weddings.
So far we've lusted over metallic tiers, we've been converted to the way of naked sponges, and we've put on about five pounds just talking about buttercream.
And today is all about colours. Pretty pastels are the cake hue du jour this year, and Jaclyn will tell us why...
Soft Coloured Wedding Cakes
Wedding cakes with soft pastel colours have been popular for quite a while and the trend continues into 2014. Why? The soft colour palette works so well on wedding cakes. Not forgetting the trend of having round tiers, the softer colours works in harmony with the roundness of the tiers. Elizabeth has covered previously about the best way to choose your colour palette and when choosing your wedding colour palette, the lighter colours you choose are more appealing on the eye than the darker colours. Our biggest request for 2014 are ivories and soft pinks, peaches, lilacs, mints and greys.Rose-Hued Romance
