A Blossoming Romance

Written by: louise

Sometimes I receive submissions so breathtakingly beautiful that I have to actually pinch myself to check that it's real and not some figment of my imagination. One of the biggest blessings for any blogger is to share the most beautiful inspiration out there, and inspire you to incorporate some of the ideas into your own big day. As the Spring blossom holds on to the branches here in the UK for just a few more days, I hope this shoot inspires to you get out there and make the most of this, surely the prettiest, season!

Submitted by Darya, of Organic Album, and Victoria of NW Luxury Events, this purely romantic elopement shoot was set in a beautiful blossoming orchard, under branches laden with the prettiest pink petals of Spring. It's dreamy, it's inspiring, and my words simply do it no justice. This is one where the pictures need to do the talking...

The inspiration was the story of a couples romance coming to life, and blossoming into something beautiful. I wanted brides to be captivated by the romance of this couple. I wanted it to feel whimsical and dream-like, while keeping it realistic and raw. Weddings, and especially elopements are not just about capturing that classic portrait, it's about telling the story of love between two people.
Her dress was a blush colored wedding gown. Off the shoulder sleeves and the soft flow of the hemline, created that effortless look we were going for. In order to tie in with the theme theme, the hair was kept as natural as possible, being tousled by the wind, not overly styled. To bring out her natural beauty with minimal make up was key, with no harsh shades and contouring. Since the bride was in the midst of the luscious blossoming garden, we kept accessories to a minimum, a hand-crafted floral headpiece completed the look. We used the horse as a symbol of trust, innocence, and a strong bond between two individuals. The blossoming arch, French settee, ladder, table setting, etc, were all significant elements that helped bring everything together to complete this concept. It was important to stay within the organic vintage theme, while keeping it an elegant and classic affair.

The color palette consisted of light pastels, mainly blush pink and ivory, with hints of white, gold and bronze. Some of the accent colors were greens and browns, which we chose to bring out the true colors of nature and our surroundings. To make everything look effortless, the arrangements were scattered, intertwined and used in that way throughout the setting. The bridal bouquet consisted of pink and white peonies wrapped lace, with a vintage brooch attached. The table arrangements, along with the bridal bouquet, were more composed compared to the rest of the setting to bring elegance and classic simplic ity to the overall effect.
