Ready to pop!

Afternoon readers! Welcome back to our b.team dessert expert Emily, with some delicious inspiration for your dessert table! Inspired by the excitement a lollipop could create in childhood days, ‘pop’ desserts have become quite the wedding and event dessert trend.  What began with cake pops has now grown to cover most baked goods (even pie pops!)  The in-built sticks means from a practical perspective they are a low maintenance ‘finger food’ as they do away with the need for serving items or cutlery.  Pops can also multi-task as a place name setting/favour for your guests when wrapped in cellophane and fastened with some coordinating ribbon and a name label. Today I’m sharing some pops to inspire you: Cake pops have the benefit of being able to be displayed in numerous different ways, such as in vases or tall glasses to give the look of a bunch of flowers for a more relaxed look, or served with the pop on a plate and the sticks standing up like soldiers for those who like their displays more precise. Fruit pops provide an injection of natural colour and flavour into the menu, so long as you use a firm, juicy fruit which doesn’t oxidise Tempting Cake Chocolate pops work well served with coffee and with all the moulds available today there’s bound to be one which adds a personal touch to your big day Liesl Cheney Macaroon pops are an on-trend choice too! Hello Naomi Mallow pops are a lighter alternative to baked goods on sticks, shown here dipped in white chocolate and coated with desiccated coconut for added texture. Liesl Cheney Cookie pops accompanied by a bottle of milk give a nod to the comforting American milk and cookies tradition Hello Naomi Are you having pops at your wedding?  We’d love to hear what kind!
