Welcome to Wedstock: A Vintage Wedding for Lovers

Welcome to Wedstock: A Vintage Wedding for Lovers

via

The year was 2016...or was it? From the moment Sean + Alex sent off their save-the-dates, guests were transported back to that magical year of music, Harleys, and hippies: 1969. The event was dubbed "Wedstock," a harmonious union of two lovers and their obsession with the 70s! The groomsmen wore black biker attire, the ladies brought the color in their free-spirited gowns, and guests even got in on the action, dressing in their own vintage looks! A live band kept the party going well into the night, while the vintage + DIY details set the stage for an authentically groovy day.

Alex tells us, My goal was to make it as authentic as possible, which called for a lot thrift and eBay shopping. Whatever I couldn't buy, I made. There were many late macrame craft nights! Although it seemed a feat to recreate a true 70s wedding, and people thought I was crazy for buying all vintage fabric, furniture, rugs, vases, plates, even salt + pepper shakers, seeing my 70s dream day come to life was totally worth it and the very best day ever.

Ryan Horban Photography was there for the party, calling it one of the most unique weddings he's ever photographed. Let's have a look!

Hello, color!

Alex wow'd in a vintage-inspired gown by Rachel Zoe. Just wait until you see those bell sleeves in action! Lindsey Lepore created those fiery red waves, and Leah Carmichael 's red lip + cat eye combo sealed the bride's 70s look.

S+A wed at Blue Moon Ranch in Temecula, California. Typically known for it's beautiful wine country, the landscape became the perfect background for the Harleys and hippies to convene!

Just look at all those details! The vintage knit throws, furniture, macrame details, and beads are perfect!

While Alex sourced plenty of vintage items for the reception, Baker Party Rentals provided furniture, linens, and specialty rentals to top it off.

Roots Living Art Design brought in all the floral elements, with a heavy emphasis on the daisies!

Those rattan peacock chairs! Love it!

We can't get over all the spot-on vintage decor details!

The newlyweds snuck away for some sweet portraits at sunset.

How fun are they??

Music from Robert Jon and the Wreck (and a few signature cocktails) kept the dance floor packed!

(Peace and) LOVE it! Want to see it all in action? The Wonderland Group created a super-fun 70s themed video of the days best moments below. Congrats to S+A!
