Siobhan and Cole met through a mutual friend and got engaged a year later. "He took my hands in his and gave me a speech about how I had changed his life," Siobhan says, recalling the night when Cole proposed. "He said that he believes when something good is in your life, you need to do whatever you can to keep it there. It was incredibly sweet."

The couple were the winners of Weddingbells ' 30th anniversary destination wedding giveaway and were married in the beach gazebo at Majestic Colonial Resort in Punta Cana.

To match the tropical scenery of Punta Cana, the couple chose a colour palette of fuchsia and blue for their special day. "I wanted bright colours for the bridesmaid dresses to contrast with the sea in the background," Siobhan explains. Her favourite details included her colourful bouquet and the cake, which was also decorated with vibrant florals. "The cake was gorgeous," she says. "I had numerous comments on how delicious it was."

Guests travelled from Canada, the U.S., Scotland and Australia to see the couple get married. "Two of our guests travelled for 55 hours, just to come and celebrate with us," Siobhan smiles.

The bride admits that the most important part of the day was the memories they made with their friends and family. "I loved seeing my father and my new father-in-law dressing up and acting silly while dancing during the reception," Siobhan says. "It was a once-in-a-lifetime thing to see and I am glad I have pictures to remind them!"
