Sarah and Josh were married in 2004. After being together for so long, and having two kids, they decided to renew their vows in June of this year.

"We've been together a long time and our kids are out of the 'little' kid phase", said Sarah. "I feel like we are entering a new chapter in our lives together as a family and thought this would be a great way to enter into that and also allow our children to be a part of such a special ceremony."

"Josh is a tattoo artist and specialises in American traditional which uses bright bold colours. We both love Dia De Los Muertos art and Catholic art, which all use bright bold colours, too so what better than to go with that theme for our vow renewal? I knew we were going to have all these amazing bright flowers, so I wanted our attire to be pretty neutral. Plus I wore a red dress for our actual wedding, so I wanted to wear white for the renewal."

"I feel pretty prepared for planning things", she continued. "The hardest part was making sure my vision synced up with all the other people involved in the process. Luckily, I had Kandice Stone who is an amazing wedding planner taking care of everything for me! She really ran with my ideas and nailed it. I was so impressed with her and her skills. You can definitely tell that she is an artist and can put things together in such a beautiful way and really capture the essence of us."

The ceremony was short, simple and just what they wanted. "It was an extremely hot evening, which is just the way I like it. It was set in an orchard and very intimate with just our kids and some close friends. It was perfect. Simple, but elegant. We stood with each other and our kids and told each other how much we loved each other and how no matter what we were going to continue on this journey together. We didn't need to recite long drawn out vows. We didn't do that at our wedding either. All we need to do is look at each other and we know we are in it for life."

"Afterwards we chose not to have a proper 'reception', which cut down on the costs. We just served cake and some drinks. We also chose to only to share it with a few close friends, so that saved on the overall expense as well."
