Kat and Zachary's wedding at SmogShoppe is adorable to the max. The low-key couple stayed true to the beauty of the SmogShoppe and brought in small pieces of themselves - specifically their pups and nods to the Lincoln Park Zoo (the location of their first date and engagement.) We're especially loving the animal-inspired table numbers and escort cards. The yellow florals by The Little Branch and letterpress stationery by Creative Letterpress, Inc. are lighthearted and fun and the photos by Grey Collective member Mandee Johnson Photography capture all the details and delight. Zachary and Kat are two very private and low-key people filled to the brim with love and sweetness. They say in a perfect world they would've run off and eloped. With Kat being the only girl in her family and Zachary being the youngest of four, they wanted the wedding to be a family affair. Their best friend of 8 years, David Marx, (and who was largely responsible for them being together) married them among some of their closest friends and loved ones.

Kat - "There was such a certainty when it came to exchanging our vows ­ it was weirdly grounding. It seemed like all the emotion in the room came together to make one, big shared feeling. It's impossible to put into words, but it was really something."

From the photographer: They stayed true to the beauty of the SmogShoppe and brought in small pieces of themselves - specifically their pups and nods to Lincoln Park (first date/engagement spot). They incorporated their two dogs as much and astastefully as possible, since they couldn't be at the venue. They got a prime spot on the SmogShoppe's projector, keeping a watchful eye on the whole party and showed up in the photo booth.

They designed all of the the paper goods: save-the-dates, invites, envelopes, escort cards, table numbers, menus, etc. Wanting to pay homage to SmogShoppe's gorgeous succulent walls they continued the theme throughout their stationery. The table numbers had be animals! A nod to their first date being at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago and also where Zachary proposed.

The floral design was aimed to blend seamlessly with the design of SmogShoppe. A color scheme of mostly white, sage greens with pops of yellow. The wedding party was in navy and grey to contrast with the green of the succulents and the rusty red of the building.

Another key element was our bartender, Ricky Yarnall. He worked with Kat and Zack to make a stellar menu that reflected our personalities and love of cocktails. He really knows his stuff. EcoCaters were a dream: down-to-earth and great eats. Including late night snacks like hot pretzels and vanilla ice cream using Zachary's family recipe!
