Dieter and Zani got married at Katy's Palace Bar in Sandton, Jo'burg. This beautiful venue fit their style perfectly with its beautiful vintage décor. Gingerale Photography took the most beautiful photos to make sure not a single moment is forgotten on their big day.

We met through a mutual friend when Zani moved to JHB. We ended up serving coffee together at our community church and used to retreat to the kitchen to hide from the crowds - later on we learnt that evasive tactics was something we had in common :)

Dieter pretended that we were on our way to attend his school reunion at a nature reserve south of JHB. Upon arrival, I was told that we were late (this is not unusual) and that we had missed the bus to the look out spot where the function was to take place. The guide mentioned that he could show us a short cut so that we can join the rest of the group. We climbed a hill to a beautiful secluded spot, where they had prepared a champagne picnic for us set against the back drop of a beautiful view. Once I realised what was happening, the guide disappeared from sight and the next moment Dieter proposed.

Both of us being rather shy, we opted for an intimate little ceremony with our families before the actual wedding started. We had arranged this in a beautiful garden, with our closest family being able to share in the moment as we saw one another for the first time on our wedding day.

"There is nothing more beautiful than seeing a person being themselves. Imagine going through your day being unapologetically you." (Maraboli) We felt that on this day, we could be the weird, whacky wonderful us and everyone got to celebrate that.

Don't stress about the wedding day, this is just the beginning of the adventure - however make sure that you stop, enjoy the moment and experience it fully.
