Urban Garden Arizona Wedding: Bonny + Shane

Urban Garden Arizona Wedding: Bonny + Shane

via

Just because you're tying the knot in downtown Phoenix, Arizona, doesn't mean your day can't have a lush, garden feel, and Bonny + Shane's DIY wedding at Events on Jackson - a brand new hidden-gem-of-a-venue - is about to show you exactly how it can be done. Blooms + greenery bought wholesale ahead of time were put together by friends and family and, in the end, it looked as if the venue's brick walls were practically dripping in eucalyptus + garden roses! But the main focus of the day for this sweet duo was enjoying their moment with their nearest + dearest.

Bonny says, The thing that inspired us most about our wedding was the idea of togetherness. That all of our closest friends and family could join us in celebrating something so pure and special. Although it wasn't easy embracing the spotlight, we found ourselves sticking together throughout the whole night and trying to hold each moment as long as we could.

Big thanks to Luke and Mallory for the gorgeous photos + congrats to Bonny + Shane on a truly beautiful day!

Bonnie wore a gorge dress by Truvelle and her bridesmaids wore modern, white sheath dresses from...get ready for it... Forever21!

Our most memorable moment of our wedding day was having to hide from each other all day (we got ready at our venue)! When we finally got to see each other for the very first time we both had tears in our eyes (first time in 5 years I had seen my "now" husband cry). It was so surreal! Also, sharing our written vows with each other for the first time truly makes it so personal and gets the guests laughing. The whole day was truly the most memorable day of our lives, I still get butterflies and tears thinking about it.

Processional: Bridal Party: Pearls - Phillip Cuccias; Bride: Light As Air - Phillip Cuccias

Recessional: This Will Be ( An Everlasting Love) - Natalie Cole

First Dance: Heaven's Knife - Josh Garrels

The next day, Bonny + Shane headed out to the Superstition Mountains with Luke and Mallory for a day after shoot! Mallory says, We hiked in gentle rain for a moment before enjoying a magical Arizona sunset as we captured some endearing moments with the happy couple to encapsulate their love that began in the desert.

Bonny: I think the best advice we could give to other couples is to stay true to the vision you have. Even if it's the little details you have always wanted (bride always wanted confetti, best choice ever). Don't give up- there are so many loved ones, friends, co-workers and neighbors who want to help, let them- they will be such a great help. Take a deep breath, the day that you worked so hard on is finally here- stay close to each other, its easy to get separated the whole night trying to talk to everyone and take pictures, etc. Don't forget to invest in an amazing wedding photographer and videographer- I promise you won't regret it. Take your shoes off and dance the night away, you'll look so cute on film.

Shane: Don't break your toe on the wedding morning, happens to the best of us (ME) haha.
