Are you guys familiar with the fashion blog Chronicles of Frivolity? If not, get familiar. The vibe is totally flirty + glam and, of course, so is the wedding of Katey, the girl behind it all. We're thrilled to be sharing Katey and Paul's modern-glam Dallas wedding. The bride was perfection in a lavender Hayley Paige and the details include gilded pineapples, tons of amazing florals by RLove Floral, a six-tier cake and dramatic rosy lighting. Lucky for us, amazing Collective Member, Jojo Pangilinan Photographers, were on hand to capture all the gorgeous details-not to mention the beautiful evening glow-of the Katey and Paul's big day. We know you're going to love it!

What made the wedding special and unique?

It was a huge celebration for my family because my mom went through chemo treatment all while we were engaged. She was so sick the entire time we planned the wedding and really fought through to be there for both Paul and I. Two weeks before the wedding she was able to stop treatment and it was such perfect timing and we were thrilled she could enjoy the day.

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

It was actually my second gown! I'm a fashion blogger and the irony of this story gets me every time. My first gown actually tore during bridals on some rock steps. It was a really thin fabric and the designer didn't make the dress anymore so I couldn't order more fabric and my tailor refused to touch it. It was a simple gown so I decided to go in the opposite direction. My wedding gown was Hayley Paige and lavender which is my favorite color. I guess I just like shopping so much I got to go gown shopping twice!

What were some touches added to make it personal?

We wanted a black tie wedding, but had to make sure it stayed true to our southern roots in Texas. We incorporated pineapples as a symbol throughout the wedding [in floral arrangements, coasters, etc.] as a sign to our guests we wanted to welcome them into our new life and husband and wife. My husband also got me hooked on breakfast food! I never loved breakfast until I met him, so at 11 we passed out chicken and waffles and a box of donuts to each guest. I loved getting texts the next day saying they were all enjoying their donuts for breakfast.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

The most memorable part of the day was that my childhood pastor married us. He had dedicated me as a baby and baptized me as a child, so it was so sweet he and his wife flew in from out of town to do the ceremony. Growing up I told him I wouldn't ever bring a boy to church unless I knew I would marry him, and Paul was the first boy I ever brought to church with me. My Pastor always knew we'd get married, so it just made the moment even more special.

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

We met through mutual friends who were dating. I was going to dinner with my girlfriend and she needed to stop at her boyfriend's house to get something. I didn't want to go inside but she told me I needed to be social [I'm really shy!]. I went inside and met Paul. We dated for two years and got engaged the same weekend my parents did. I was at my friend's ranch all weekend and when we got back he never came over to see me. I was a little surprised but he took me to Grace in Downtown Fort Worth and proposed there! Afterwards he took me to where we had our first date and surprised me with family and friends.
