What do you get when you combine Secret Garden + modern design + feminine flair? Basically, you get Andrea a Daniel's gorgeous wedding designed by Ooh! Events. There's tons to love about this outdoor affair in the lush Low Country gardens of Epic Charleston. Our favorites are the romantic garden trellis lounge areas, the BEYOND amazing mix-and-match bridal party styling and the cool, graphic reception chairs. We're totally into the way the details kept the vibe super fresh and, of course, the incredible Clay Austin Photography captured everything to perfection. You're gong to love it!

What made the wedding special and unique?

We had very simple décor that fit the surrounding areas. I wanted all of the flowers to be of neutral color, with a few blush colored flowers as an accent. I also wanted a more tossed organic look with the flowers, which included our bouquet, and some of the cascading table centerpieces. For lighting, we wanted a very romantic look. We thought the lawn pathways would be lit perfectly with tall lanterns, and we hung a beautiful chandelier over the bar area, which lit the area perfectly. Over the dinner area, we had bistro lighting, and an array of candles over each tabletop. My favorite wedding décor pieces were the four garden trellis lounge areas we had by the dance floor. This was something my event planner and I fully designed on our own, the inspiration came from the movie Secret Garden. I never anticipated it would come out as perfectly as I imagined; it gave such a romantic touch to the area, and fit as the perfect lounge area for taking a break from the dance floor. We opted for two cakes because we just couldn't make up our mind on what flavors to have. I loved the simplicity of a naked cake with accenting berries, but couldn't resist not having chocolate or red velvet as a flavor, so we decided to have a mini frosted cake on the side with these flavors. I thought both cakes complimented our wedding.

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

The dress I chose was the second one I ever tried on. I absolutely loved it, but my mom convinced me to visit one other bridal store before committing. Well, I took my mother's advice, and as soon as we walked in to the second bridal store I specifically asked to see this dress again...I knew it was the one for me. It fit perfectly to my body; I am Latin and didn't want to hide my curves. This dress did a nice job of complimenting my figure. AND the dress had pockets (which I even fit a lip gloss in! I decided there were a few things I wanted to tweak with the dress, and had it sent back for a custom-made look which made it more me. I had the bows on top of the shoulder removed and filled the cleavage lines of the dress with additional lace material (I didn't want to feel like too much cleavage was showing). I felt like the tweaks completed the already stunning dress.

What were some touches added to make it personal?

The thing about this venue is that you couldn't overdo it. The venue itself is the decoration, and I didn't want to take away from that. I wanted nice understated pieces that complemented the natural surroundings. I think that this was music to my wedding planner's ears, because she felt the very same way, and in the end, we were able to create a really beautiful setting that intertwined with the established beauty of this location. What made it personal for me was the escort cards. My mother came up with the idea of having her famous pineapple-habanero jelly, (which happens to me one of my favorite little snacks) inside mini mason jars as escort cards. I think this gave the wedding a warm touch.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

The most memorable part of the day was seeing all of our ideas become a reality. The most memorable part of my day were my guests! Like they say "you can take my friends and family out of Miami but you can't take Miami out of them!" You would have thought we were on South Beach on that dance floor! We had friends and family come from all over the world to celebrate our union. It was a beautiful feeling to have everyone there. What I will always remember is the huge surprise my husband and mother-in-law gave all of the guests when they broke down in a full out choreographed performance to Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk." They actually took secret dance lessons for 3 weeks.

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

Daniel and I originally met when we were teenagers. Our families always knew each other, and were in the same social circle. We reconnected through Facebook a few years later after college and hit it off. We dated 2 1/2 years before Daniel proposed to me, and waited a year and 4 months before getting married. The proposal (in Daniel's words): It was Andrea's 27th birthday, and I surprised her with a weekend at the Biltmore Hotel. We spent the day relaxing at the spa, and had dinner reservations at the restaurant in the hotel. While we were having dinner, I had the hotel concierge set up the room with candles, and I had them spell out "Will you Marry Me" with rose petals on the bed. After dinner, I mentioned to Andrea that I wanted to give her a birthday present so that she can wear it out later for her birthday party with our friends. I took her back to the hotel room, and had her follow me to the bedroom, I got down on one knee next to the bed that read "WILL YUO MARRY ME". I caught her completely by surprise, she got real emotional real quick. After the moment settled, we noticed that "You" was spelled incorrectly as ("Yuo") on the bed and got a great laugh. We rearranged the spelling for pictures of course.
