Kim and Niko Riley's Wedding shoot is absolutely gorgeous! The lovely couple were married at Rand Club, a ceremonious and romantic venue. This wedding has a special touch as the family came together to create this beautiful event; with the cake by Amber Riley, and the flowers by Ansa Riley.

Photographed by Judith Belle, Kim and Niko's Wedding tells a beautiful story. The beautiful bride shares a little more...

Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

A mutual friend invited us both for dinner at a popular hangout on a Friday night. When the entire group left straight after dinner and we were both ready for a night out, we awkwardly agreed to stay for a last drink together - despite not having spoken a word to each other till then. By the time we left we were in love, although it still took a few months to admit it to each other.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

Niko had spent months in cahoots with a friend who is a jewelry designer, searching for the perfect diamond for the ring they had designed for me. We flew up to Cape Town for the weekend where Niko's family had received the ring and helped with planning the proposal. The weather had ruined his original plans, so when the sun came out en route to a party, Niko veered into the nearest wine estate where we had a wonderful impromptu afternoon drinking delicious champagne and giggling. He propose, I cried, apparently I still haven't said yes!

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

A few weeks before the wedding, a good family friend managed to organize the most exquisite and historic venue in the centre of Johannesburg - The Rand Club. And when the day arrived after minimal warning or planning (at least from our side), everything unfolded like a fairytale before our eyes. Friends had arrived from all over the world, my mother had done all the flowers, my sister-in-law had made the wedding cake and guest gifts, my cousin arrived to do my make-up and handed me all the necessary lipsticks and lipglosses for touch-up during the day in a little draw string bag, my sisters pampered me with treats and gifts including a special wedding perfume, our family and friends made the perfect speeches and my brother held the entire party together as MC and organizer. And of course my gorgeous niece and nephews provided the wedding guests with entertainment through the ceremony.

Realising how the day had been created through (undirected) collaboration by the people that love us and wanted it to be the best day of our lives - was breath taking.

I Quote | Describe in one sentence your wedding day

Celebrating the exciting start of a new adventure with my favorite person, while being told every few minutes I look beautiful (and feeling it) :)

Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides

My cousin would phone me twice a week in the month leading up to the wedding to check that I was staying calm enough to enjoy the process - he would say "nobody will ever know things did not work out the way you planned". Another friend kept reminding me that the wedding day flies by and that enjoying the process and lead up is just as important as the day. I owe them and our supportive families for a lot of beautiful memories throughout the process.

So... take it with a pinch of salt - this is your only wedding day, no matter what happens try keep everything in perspective and make sure you enjoy the lead up and the wedding day. Apply the same thinking to your exciting new life and all the adventures (good and not-so-good) that come with it.
