Our beauty team hit up and a slew of backstage runways at Fashion Week, catching up and grazing shoulders with industry bigwigs the likes of Bobbi Brown, Jin Soon Choi, and taking notes on fall's biggest makeup trends.

What stood out to them as the biggest beauty trends on the spring '16 runways? For one, individualized contouring and brows, like the ones createdat the hands of experts like Shiseido's Dick Page for Narciso Rodriguez. In season's past we've seen our share of strong contouring and bold brows, but this year was different. Show after show, artists let the model's natural features dictate the beauty, focusing on accentuating natural assets, like amping up already god-given bushy brows.

When they did spot eye makeup, it was Hair was consistently "undone" for a deep and smokey with metallic touches. Models were made to look like they'd returned from an evening out, not the clean and polished look they left the house with. Clean and concise was not the aim this season, and at shows like Alexander Wang, NARS crews went back and disheveled the maquillage with a finger or eye cream for a truly worn-in look.Lips came in extremes; naked and natural with a light shine, or done-up and deep with a matte finish like the ones executed by NARS artists at Rodarte. raw, easy, and organic look intended to convey youthfulness. At Delpozo, Antonio Calero for Moroccanoil, mixed products of contrasting finishes (Dry texture spray and Luminous Hairspray) to create a worn/day old look.

If there were pops of color, you can bet they were carryovers from spring, expect relatively bright blushes in peach and rose hues, along with touches of bronze. Bobbi Brown's Marc Reagan described the influence behind his similar look at Veronica Beard as that of a returning traveler coming home from summer holiday, still holding onto that bronzy glow.

Nails remained neutral overall, even when a bold darker color was used, it was in an earthy red. Lead nail artist such as Deborah Lippmann added interest by way of texture to the nails. At Narciso Rodriguez she layered nail lacquers with different finishes (opaque and sheer) and at Raquel Allegra she used a everyday kitchen sponge to dab on texture over the base coat.
