As a producer in the advertising industry, Bailey is used to planning things. So when Evan informed her that he had planned a dinner for them one Sunday night, she knew something was up. "I knew what was coming and spent three days freaking out; I had this huge news to share, but couldn't share it with anyone because it wasn't news yet," she says. Evan ended up taking Bailey to one of their favourite restaurants in the city, where they sipped champagne and shared a meal together. "We left the restaurant and stopped in a nearby park, where he finally popped the question, but not before we were attacked by a hundred pigeons! Of course I said yes, and I love how quintessentially us the proposal was," Bailey remembers.

For their wedding, the couple knew they wanted to create a whimsical, romantic feel. "Pulling inspiration from vibrant summer pastels, we chose a palette which included shades of blush, peach, mauve, cream, golden candlelight, and regal navy blue. Our wedding colours were inspired by Rose Quartz and Serenity, which later became Pantone's 2016 colours of the year, " says Bailey. "It was important to us to keep the colours elegant, but still have our creative personalities shine through," she adds.

The food was another important detail for the pair, and they chose summer-themed dishes to create a relaxed, fun vibe. Deconstructed strawberry shortcakes in mason jars, campfire roasted s'mores cakes, a tiered cake covered in sprinkles and a late-night snack station serving ballpark hot dogs and soft pretzels were all huge hits with the guests.

Along with the whimsical details, Bailey's highlights from the day include meaningful touches like the photos of her grandparents who had passed on attached to her bouquet. "We were so fortunate to have three grandparents there to help us celebrate, however, notably missing were five very important people in our lives. To honour our grandparents who had passed away I added their pictures to my bouquet. This was especially meaningful because Evan had lost two grandparents a few months before the wedding," Bailey explains.

Overall, Bailey says the ceremony was the most magical moment of the day. "I was so excited to finally marry Evan in front of all our family and friends. Although our ceremony space was a large sanctuary, it felt intimate and was so special to have our family all under the chuppah with us. As soon as the ceremony started the skies opened, and you could hear the pitter patter of the storm outside on the stained glass. It was quite celestial," she says.
