Forest & Field Engagement with a Vintage VW Beetle - Whimsical...

Oh how I love woodland. The atmosphere, the sounds, the scent...

I can only imagine why Shane and Jessie decided to head to the forest for their engagement shoot. These alternative style shots are just so romantic and I am certain they will be treasured forever. A road trip in their vintage VW Beetle also took them to the rapeseed fields for another photo opportunity and the results are stunning.

Thanks so much to Beneath The Pines for sharing these wonderful portraits today.

"We met on the mountains of Flaine (France) by chance whilst we were both working as Ski Reps. Jessie was from Shropshire and I lived 200 miles away in Durham. Our first date was spent skiing together on the mountains, nobody knew we were together so there was lots of sneaky kisses on the ski lifts. The date finished in a nice little French restaurant and a few too many drinks. When we came back to the UK, we lived 200 miles apart and I realised life wasn't the same without Jessie so I upped sticks and moved to Wolverhampton."

"On Christmas Day - We had Jessies family to visit for Christmas, after Christmas dinner I sent them on a treasure hunt around the village leaving clues at each place. The final clue led to me down on one knee." "We actually wanted and engagement shoot with Chris because we'd seen some of his previous work and liked his alternative style. Before the shoot we collected Chris and his partner Sara (who are both great friends of ours) in our vintage VW Beetle (which was also Jessie's car at the wedding). Unfortunately the Beetle broke down half way through the shoot in the middle of Hamsterley Forrest with none of us having phone reception, we did manage to get it up and running after a little while. Chris asked us to position ourselves in some very obscure places but after seeing all the pictures he created it was well worth all the climbing on trees, rumbling in forests and rapeseed fields." "We framed a lot of the engagement shoot photos and displayed them on the wedding day. We have a bit of a passions for DIY weddings, Jessie spent lots of time on our wedding day doing arts and crafts. She loves to take inspiration from other peoples crafty work too. We were married on Saturday 7th June in Piercebridge Darlington."

WOW.

Thanks so much for sharing guys xo Lou
