The night Rob and Maryann met, he was drawn in by her beauty and dancing skills, while she was wooed by his easygoing manner. "Upon meeting Rob, I was quickly lured by his charm," Maryann remembers. "I also thought he was pretty darn cute!"

Rob proposed to Maryann at Toronto's Ritz-Carlton Hotel in a suite scattered with rose petals. "On his knee, Rob asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I said 'yes.' Rob then whispered his next surprise to me: we would be leaving for Paris the next morning," says Maryann. The rest of the night was spent celebrating with family and friends over champagne and burritos!

For their wedding, the couple chose a vintage glam theme inspired by both The Great Gatsby and the Oscars, using a colour palette of navy, cream and silver to create a classic vibe. "We chose this since we both loved the Gatsby remake and the style of the time and we share a fondness for movies," Rob explains. "Maryann also has a hidden passion for fashion, especially Oscar red carpet style," he adds.

To incorporate the Oscars into their theme, the pair infused their reception with details like love quotes from different movies on each table. Other film-themed touches included hand-written Star Wars thank-you notes a Batman character peeking out of the fondant on their otherwise elegant wedding cake.

Both the bride and the groom agree that their favourite moment of the wedding was when they locked eyes for the first time during the ceremony. "Our eyes connected and never left each other," Maryann reminisces.

After a heartfelt ceremony, the couple and their guests got the party started with music and dancing. Rob even dusted off his turntables and DJ'd the party for a few songs. "I was by his side, the dance floor was full. It was just an incredible moment to share with all of our friends and family," Maryann says.

Rob and Maryann ended the night on a high note by reflecting on their celebration and the exciting times to come. "The night finished similar to how our engagement night and many other of our greatest moments in the past had, with Rob and I alone together, laughing and sharing our favourite moments from the evening, excited for our future together," says Maryann.
