There's no denying that certain makeup products are the heroes of the beauty world. You know the ones: red lipstick, black eyeliner, bronzer, etc. While we appreciate these classic go-tos, we also have a heart for the underdogs. That being said, we wanted to pay homage to one of makeup's greatest unsung heroes: berry lipstick. Find out why this lipstick shade deserves a round of applause!

Now don't get us wrong, we will always be loyal supporters of the classic red lip. But, sometimes a girl needs a change of pace. The lovely reddish, plum shade that is berry lipstick gives your pout a nice vacay from its fiery crimson companion. But, don't get too comfortable - your red lippie might start to get jealous.

Unlike other lipstick shades that have a specific time and place to shine (ahem, brown and oxblood for fall), berry lips can work with a wide variety of looks and seasons. Little did you know that berry lipstick covers a wide range of shades. Some berry hues lie in "dark and moody" territory and have deep brown undertones, while others lie on cooler side with blue undertones. Like other classic shades - nude and coral - this variety allows us the luxury of selecting the perfect color for our skin tone.
