If you're a member of the kilt appreciation society then Katie and Asa's big day is for you! There are kilts aplenty at this vintage inspired wedding hosted at Pendrell Hall amidst lashings of beautiful bespoke fabric flowers created by one of our very own RMW team members - Becky!

I adore the soft pink and blush colour scheme Katie picked for their big day - from the table centrepieces down to the peach bridesmaids dresses. Katie also wears her Suzanne Neville 'Gracie' dress to princess perfection so it's no surprise that her daughter wanted a frock with a big trail just like mummy's.

The Bride's Fashion

Katie The Bride: I'd always imagined myself in a fishtail type dress yet when tried dresses in this shape on I felt awful in them all. Then the wonderful team at Adele Bridal said to me we have a dress that would be perfect for you but it is out the back as someone has bought the sample. Out came Gracie and I immediately fell in love and knew it was the one I wanted before I tried it on. The way the silk flowed meant that I didn't want to take it off.

With my accessories I had an idea in my head of exactly what I wanted but couldn't find anything that fitted the bill. In February, I visited the wedding show with my mum and looked all round and couldn't see anything. It was only when we sat down for a coffee that we saw a small stand in the corner that seemed to answer all my prayers. Amanda from the Amanda Caroline Couture said she could make what I was looking for so I choose the pearl, beads etc and then she sent me a photo and it was perfect. She made the bracelet, necklace and earrings to match.

The Groom's Fashion

My husband is half Scottish so has always wanted to get married in a kilt, I think they look great. I was a bit worried about the tartan and it not matching the colour scheme I had in my head so we choose a black tartan.

The Venue

We fell in love with Pendrell the moment we walked in, it was new, fresh and adaptable and we felt like no matter what style we choose it would look amazing. We never looked at another venue; we cancelled all our other viewings.

Colour Scheme / Décor

I met with my friend Bec the owner of Studio Sappor and I took along an idea book of all things I liked and all the colours from things I had seen at other weddings, pinterest and interent. The rest was all Bec, it was like she had read my mind. It was absolutely beautiful.

Flowers

The bouquets for myself and for the bridesmaids were all real flowers made up of roses and freesias from Topiary Tree florists. My centrepieces and all general decorations were all hand made by Studio Sappor.

The Wedding Party Fashion

The bridesmaids wore a pale pink dress from Coast and my flower girl, my daughter Lola, wore a dress that was hand made by Lisa Harris. Lola wanted a princess dress with a big trail just like mummy's so that's what Lisa made her; it was amazing.

Ceremony

We got married at St Nick's Church in Codsall and had a reading by my cousin. She read the lyrics of a Bob Marley song called 'he isn't perfect' and I absolutely loved it. She read it so well and bought tears to my eyes.

Entertainment

When we arrived from the church at Pendrell, Stacey from Revival was singing for all our guests. She was amazing; she sang till we sat down for our wedding breakfast and for the evening we had Matt DJ from Velocity Roadshow. We had our first dance to Ed Sheeran.

Photographer

We had Nicola from Daffodil Waves, I knew when I started to email Nicola many months before the wedding that I wanted her to photograph our day. She came along and was like one of the girls; we have some wonderful shots and fantastic memories. We had the most amazing day and can't thank everyone enough for all the help and support, it was a day we will never forget.
