Morning beauts!

I'm am so honoured to be introducing you guys to this wonderfully creative soul this morning! From the moment we saw The Good Florist's incredible work, we were hooked here at FBrides.

All natural, all seasonal, all hands down beautiful blooms.

If you're yet to order those all important wedding flowers, prepare yourself to witness one of floristry's finest...

I'm Roberta, The Good Florist, and I specialise in locally sourced and wild wedding flowers.

I live in the woods with my boyfriend, who's a carpenter, and my son, Noah. I really draw inspiration from nature and the changing seasons and use lots of wild materials in my designs.

Burning Man in Nevada, which bills itself as a network of dreamers and doers.

I started doing flowers for friends and really loved it. Actually, that's a lie, it was really stressful to start with, and I always ended up with too many flowers and agonised for far too long. How most of us begin!

I hadn't realised how important flowers would become in my life. Working with them keeps me sane.

I love meeting couples and working together on a brief, and helping bring their dreams and vision to life.

I am a gardener and florist using the best seasonal flowers and foliage I can find. My style is loose, informal and elegant and I love muted tones and little colour pops.

I don't use flower foam (Oasis) as I think flowers look more beautiful in water. Instead I use one off containers such as urns, enamel and reclaimed vases, which give the designs a more natural and interesting look.

I also use hand died silk ribbon, which is gorgeous.

My workshop is in the Ashdown Forest and I cover all of the South East including London.

I absolutely love the moment when I drop the bridal bouquet the off in the morning. It's such a privilege to see the bride before everyone else does. The morning of the wedding is such an emotional time and I love seeing all the girls getting ready.

This year, my brides have all broken down in tears when they've seen the flowers - obviously in a good way!

I offer an hour and a half free consultation. I know that sounds like a long initial meeting, but it's important for me to find out what you are both about and to take time to understand your vision.

I'll work on the brief until you are totally happy with every aspect. I don't just talk the talk - I will work my socks off making sure we've got everything perfect.

I also offer a farm visit to a local flower farm, so you can meet the grower and see your flowers in real life.

If you want to bring nature into your wedding, I think you might like my work.

I can do a little bit wild, or a lot wild, depending on what you fancy.

I really like to use local and seasonal produce, so don't expect immaculate, imported, stiff and symmetrical designs. My flowers are a journey and rich in texture and scent.

Flowers add a really important dimension to the day, so don't settle on any old flowers. Find someone whose style you really love and allow them to select the best of what's in season for you.

"Tell me, what is it your plan to do with your one wild and only precious life?" Mary Oliver

...I tell you, if I could get married again!

We absolutely love Roberta's work; her ethos and gentle approach is just so honest and raw - it really lets the flowers sing! Go find her in our directory for some serious eye candy on this grey Thursday!

Peace + Love
