Intimate Winter Iceland Elopement: Melissa + Richard

Iceland is such a surreal + amazing place and with all of the incredibly stunning elopements + engagements we've shared from there over the years (check some of 'em out right here) we have been itching to plan a trip there ourselves. GWS company retreat, perhaps? ;) Wouldn't that be something!

You'd be hard pressed to find a cuter pair than Melissa + Richard, and their meaningful elopement on the beautiful black sand beaches of Vik is sure to tempt you to pack your bags, too. Even the chilliest of winter temps couldn't persuade them from their dream of an adventurous, intimate and emotional vow exchange. With a couple of their best friends in tow, they hiked to the prettiest rocky backdrop they could find and Danfredo Photos + Films perfectly captured the moments unfolding. A quick bit of advice on eloping from Melissa, If you choose a location that is special to the two of you, the rest will fall into place.

Melissa + Richard didn't want to spare the details, so they hired Kate Farley Design to craft a bouquet and boutonniere that would fit the aesthetic of Iceland, yet still be able to travel across the seas! Kate came up with a beautiful solution using dried berries, cotton, dried foliage and air plants. The cotton created a beautiful contrast between the stark rocks and black sand and the air plants lend a whimsical air to the bouquet.

And we love, love M's ensemble, which really was perfect for a winter elopement in Iceland! She wore a dreamy skirt by Magic 1668, paired with a top + shoes from Forever 21. Since it was most definitely cold that day, a jacket was a total must. We're loving her burgundy bomber from Top Gun Store.
