Sweet Italian Wedding with Rustic DIY Styling

Sweet Italian Wedding with Rustic DIY Styling

via

The minute we clapped eyes on this Italian wedding, we knew we had to share it with you guys.

Not just because the styling is on point, the photography is beautiful, and the party looks like a whole lot of fun (though we did love all of that!).

But the main reason we simply had to share Ilaria and Emanuele's wedding day, is that this gorgeous bride sure knows how to rock her specs!

Last year, we featured a post on brides in glasses, and we got so many lovely messages, that we realised this rare wedding day look, needs to be celebrated!

Though, captured by Paola Colleoni and styled by Sara Pozzoni of Princess Wedding, this bash has so many more borrow-able ideas than Ilaria's chic bridal style.

Sweet and rustic, this wedding is pretty different from most of the other Italian weddings we've featured before. With vintage details, creative features and fabulous blooms, not only are we inspired by this too cool couple, but we can't help but swoon over their wonderful big day as well.

Wedding Day Snapshot

Our Love Story

We met for the first time at the birthday party of a mutual friend. And on Ilaria's 28th birthday Emanuele proposed.
He gifted Ilaria of a new computer and put a very funny proposal home-video inside! Our wedding in three words? Party, friends, country style

Our Wedding

Everything was perfect, exactly how we expected it to be: a lovely celebration and an epic party. Some time has gone by since the wedding but we remember the whole day clearly. Everything was planned with attention to the smallest detail, the guests even congratulated with us for that! The perfect planning and the detailed design by Princess Wedding made us feel the only protagonists of the day.

The Inspiration

We decided the simple and country style of the location would be the main inspiration for the mood of the day. The colour palette included the romantic pink tones, the nude colour of the paper elements and a touch of amaranth which was also recalled in the flowers.

Favourite Moments

Our favourite moment was the ceremony. Everything was perfect: the atmosphere you could breath that day in our hometown church was magical, lots of people and dear friends were there with us, and all the flower decorations in front of us made our eyes glow.

Advice for Other Couples

We would recommend to make room in the budget to hire a professional and skilled wedding planner like ours and to book a videographer, it is one of the best mementos we have of the wedding.

The Decor & Details

We trusted Sara and Cristiano of Princess Wedding for the art direction of the day and every styling detail was created by them as well: the main materials were the wood, the organic fabrics and the vintage props. They placed wood carts throughout the location, country inspired hay seats, an old Olivetti typewriter as a guestbook, a corner for the polaroids, a vintage suitcase decorated with flowers and two shutters as the table plan. The candy buffet was adorned with beautiful paper tags and the gift for the guests, honey jars made by the Bose community, were customized with our initials.

The Flowers

We chose anemones, hydrangeas, lisianthus, eucalyptus, amaranthus, spireas, garden roses, roses, and ivy.

The Honeymoon

Our honeymoon was a California trip during which we visited San Francisco and Los Angeles. fter the tour we took a four-day relaxing break at Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

Isn't it lovely! So many pretty (stealable!) ideas for your own rustic celebration too.

Thanks so much to Paola Colleoni, and of course, Ilaria and Emanuele for sharing their beautiful Italian wedding.
