The Offbeat Bride: Priscilla, Pharmaceutical Customer Service Supervisor

Her offbeat partner: Christopher

Date and location of wedding: The Club of Knights, Coral Gables, FL - November 1, 2014

Tell us about the ceremony:

We had a wiccan handfasting ceremony and the ritual was performed by the high priestess Sandra Cheryl Richardson from the well-known coven of "The Circle of Isis."

Our decor consisted of skulls and things celebrating the Day of the Dead in remembrance of all people and things lost along the way. Our most special moments were our vows as we felt the elements swirling around us, it was such a beautiful day.

We had a collection of all the scariest (dance-able) Halloween songs even including some from old Disney movies like Hocus Pocus ("Come Little Children"). Our first dance was "Once Upon a Dream," Lana del Rey's dark remake from Maleficent. We also had "Don't Fear the Reaper," "Bewitched," "I Put a Spell On You," "Thriller," and "Witchy Woman."

Tell us about your reception:

I heard the appetizers and food were delicious but of course we hardly ate that day. It was too difficult to be everywhere and eat, too.

I arrived 45 minutes late to my wedding since I had forgotten an accessory I wanted to wear and traffic in Miami sucks. Another funny moment would be that Chris and I totally screwed up on our first dance, but we played it off.

What was the most important lesson you learned from your wedding? Any other advice for Offbeat Bride readers?

Weddings are exhausting, but if you're going to do it, go all the way, go OFFBEAT, do everything upside down, give them something to talk about... they're going to talk anyway.
