From Kathryn and Chas:

We look back on our wedding with such fondness and gratitude for being able to share our love in the best way possible: surrounded by our closest friends and family in the city we call home, New York. We come from two very diverse backgrounds, and as we began to conceptualize our wedding day, it was important for us to pay proper tribute to our Indian and Chinese cultures, to our religions, our families, and also stay true to our life in the City. To best harmonize all the facets of our lives, we wanted a streamlined and modern wedding within a classical setting. We sprinkled in a few personal touches throughout the weekend to represent us, including framed pictures of our parents' weddings, and welcome bags, designed by our friend with a rangoli vine surrounding the Chinese "double happiness" character, which we filled with our favorite NYC dessert: Momofuku Milk Bar cookies. Beyond celebrating our love for one another, our priority was to show our gratitude to all of our loved ones through good food and wine, a fun ambiance and lively music We immediately fell in love with our venue, Gotham Hall, because of its beautiful architectural features and its versatility; the space can easily be brightened up by colorful flowers, befitting a festive Hindu wedding, and the dome and skylight can be lit to feel like the inside of a grand church. The whole day came to life with the help of our planner, Tzo Ai Ang of Ang Weddings and Events, and our florist, Yena Jung of By Yena Designs. They helped us design a cohesive, two back-to-back ceremony wedding, followed immediately by a reception. With their vision and expert execution, we were able to change the feel of the Gotham Hall ballroom between each event by varying the shades and shapes of the flowers and décor, and each flip was more magnificent than the last. It was a magical day that exceeded our wildest dreams! Click here to see more gorgeous real weddings from Ang Weddings & Events!
