Geometric wedding backdrop DIY

Geometric wedding backdrop DIY

via

We got SO much love for our Spring Style Tribe feature last week, especially the backdrops which were created especially by those clever gals over at Eagle Eyed Bride. The good news is, our geometric backdrop is super easy to recreate for your own big day - you'll just need some washi tape and a willing helping hand!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Rolls of different colour washi tapes (we love Fox & Star for a great selection)
  • A ladder
  • Sketch or image of the design you want to follow

METHOD:

Start by creating the first triangle. This sets the scale for the rest of your design so it's worth spending a little time working out the details! We used our ladder as a guide for height and angles.

Create the next layer using a different colour, working from the same start and end points but creating a new angle. Make sure the point of your triangle is neat!

Continue this layering effect with new colours until you have a total of 4 triangles

For the next layer, change the end point to create a more interesting shape

Repeat the above steps until you have the desired effect!

Used as a ceremony backdrop, a feature behind your top table or cake bar, or as a quirky photobooth this is a super simple, chic (and cheap!) DIY which transforms any boring white wall into something fun and unique. Now to practise a few walls at BLOVED HQ....
