Industrial Cocktail Wedding - Polka Dot Bride

Susan and Jason approached their industrial cocktail style wedding day differently. They hired an apartment on Cockatoo Island and together they got ready, taking photographs on Cockatoo Island's industrial style backdrop before heading across Sydney Harbour on a water taxi to greet their guests for an intimate and elegant wedding. I Love Wednesdays was there to photograph their day as it unfolded.

Susan recalls the tale of how she and Jason met. "Jason & I met through my dear friend Jaye. Initially, Jaye was introduced to Jason for a blind date. There were no sparks for them, but they remained friends. One night, Jason invited Jaye to a karaoke he has organised and said she was welcome to bring friends. Jaye brought me. And the rest is history."

Susan chose a lace dress by with silver shoes from Alan Pinkus AP Too collection.. The groom wore a suit by .

Susan remembers on of her favourite moments of the day. "The morning of our big day. A fleet of vintage fighter planes flew over the Harbour bridge and then directly over our heads, whilst we were having breakfast on the deck of Cockatoo Island apartment."

Of their photographer, Susan tells, "We love our photographer Len. Her smiles and calming voice made us feel very comfortable in front of the camera. She made us laugh which really calmed out nerves."

The floral arrangements were created by Jason's cousin .

After photographs, the couple returned to their apartment where the bride added a tulle over-skirt to her look, made by her dear friend, before hopping on a water taxi on their way to their wedding ceremony.

The couple chose as their wedding venue, Susan noting, "The ceremony & wedding was held at Cafe Morso. We fell in love with the place immediately over a casual Sunday brunch. The location was secluded and by the waters. The venue itself was charming & cosy. Food is exceptional."

"Our wedding aisle song was "Walk into this room" by Neneh Cherry and Ed Kowalczyk. Jason is a huge LIVE fan and we both really love this song. We feel it symbolizes our next chapter."

Robyn Pattison performed the marriage ceremony. Susan describing the day as "A super fun cocktail party with tranquil water views & delicious food."

The bride created a few handmade touches - a silk organza cone backdrop for the ceremony, lace bunting for the venue and cake and a thumb print guest book for guests to leave their mark. Jason made a Polaroid pin-up board from a discarded chalkboard he found on the side of the road. As their wedding cake, the couple chose a ricotta cake by Pasticceria Tamborrino.

Congratulations Susan and Jason! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to I Love Wednesdays for sharing today's wedding with us.
