Stylish wedding at Chateau de Montgobert

Welcome to the weekend! Today on the blog I have a real treat the stylish wedding at Chateau de Montgobert of Thomas and Emmanuel, captured by Antoine Monfajon. It seems only yesterday that social media and news feeds were covered with the protests regarding same same marriage in France, so it is a pleasure and triumph to be sharing a same sex wedding from France today on the blog.

As I have written before on the blog I believe in love, the form it takes whether heterosexual, same sex, age or cultural differences are all just details, love is love.

The wonderful photographer behind Thomas and Emmanuel's wedding, Antoine takes us through their big day: "I met Thomas a year ago. At that time I was his best friend's wedding photographer.

Today things have changed. I am happy to be back to the imposing 'Mairie du 10 e arrondissement' of Paris on a lovely day of September. Because I really like Thomas and because he is going to marry the man he loves.

I can't stop thinking about the huge protests France had to face some months ago. Gay marriage wasn't an easy thing to achieve. But that controversy is over now. And when I look at Thomas and Emmanuel I don't really understand why some people can be on the streets to fight what we call 'love'.

In the 'salle des mariages', behind 'Monsieur le maire', an august statue represents two men giving each other the antic kiss of peace. Does it embody Justice? Is it an allegory of the French Republic? Nobody knows. This statue makes a mockery of all sorts of conservatism. And maliciously tells us something: 'Vive les mariés !'
