Magical Romantic Pink & Green Fairy Lights Wedding

If you are looking for floral inspiration for your day, this is the real wedding feature for you.

Claire and Rob tied the knot on the 11 th July 2014 at Spains Hall in Essex. With the help of wedding planner extraordinaire Bernadette from Dream Occasions they created a magical yet romantic affair.

Flowers were one of the most important elements of the styling for bride Claire and boy were they all kinds of beautiful. Pink and green blooms were everywhere, Peonies, Hydrangeas, Roses and Astilbe were just a few of the many flowers chosen. Then there were the magnificent Silver Birch trees behind the top table, dreamy fairy lights and hessian table runners which really set the marquee off a treat.

Lets not forget the beautiful attire and a special visit from Claire's horse Puzzle. Wow.

Thanks so much to Touch Photography for providing the lovely imagery.

THE PROPOSAL | Rob proposed to me while we were on a diving trip over The Great Barrier Reef on the 4th July 2013. It was so unexpected and such a surprise because a few days before we had celebrated my 30th birthday and Rob had presented me with a beautiful watch so I thought the budget had been blown!!

THE VISION | My vision for the day was of a relaxed but elegant, magical, romantic wedding with lots of fairy lights, beautiful flowers and candles.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | Was pretty enjoyable and relaxed mainly because we had Bernadette, our wedding planner! She was marvellous I definitely couldn't of done it without her..... I had so many ideas and she was able to put them altogether and create the most perfect wedding day for us.

THE VENUE | Spains Hall for the ceremony and drink reception, then onto the bride's parents home for a dinner and dancing.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | My dress, shoes and veil were all bought from Mia Sposa in Cambridge. For my 'something new' my mum bought me a diamond and pearl bracelet, for my 'something old' I wore my Granny's antique diamond boat ring, for my 'something borrowed' I wore my mums diamond earrings and for the 'something blue' fortunately on the bottom of my shoes there was a little blue glass stud!!

FINDING THE DRESS | I had been to 5-6 different bridal shops, I must of tried on 20 dresses and none of them were what I had pictured... it is always tricky when you have such a specific idea!! We walked into the last shop and the moment we saw it my mum and I just fell in love with it, thank goodness!!

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Rob didn't want to be too formal so we bought a sort of French navy 3 piece suit for himself and his best man from Hugo Boss. Instead of ties for them both we had snazzy hankies in their top pockets which matched the tie for my dad, who insisted on wearing one!

THE READINGS & MUSIC | Sleepers Awake (instrumental), God Only Knows (instrumental), Music Performed by Aaron String Quartet.

The Key to Love and On Your Wedding Day.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | I had my two best friends as bridesmaids, as it was a summer wedding we decided that they should have short dresses. I wanted find something they both felt fabulous in and at the same time mirror the lace on my dress. We stumbled across them in Bodice Bustle, Bishop's Stortford and we all instantly knew they were perfect. I also had two flower girls who wore gorgeous dusky pink dresses from Monsoon with little blue flowers to tie them in with the bridesmaids.

THE FLOWERS | Bouquets consisted of white hydrangeas, pink peonies, white dill, sweet avalanche rose, green bell.

Mini hand tied for the flowergirls with peonies. Buttonholes were splash sensation roses and green bell. Wrist corsages for the mothers with roses, pink astilbe, green bell and lace.

Ceremony table had a collection of bottles with a mixture of peonies, roses, green bell, eucalyptus, astilbe and gyp.

Pew ends were small jars hanging off the chairs with Pink Peony, Sweet avalanche rose, Wax Flower, Pink Astilbe, Green Bell Foliage, Eucalyptus, Pink Splash Sensation spray roses. Hessian Bow with twine.

Pink gyp on the napkins. Silver birch trees behind the top table. Three rustic urns on the top table plus some glass bottles filled with Green / white Hydrangeas, Pink Peonies, Pink Sweet Avalanche Roses, Splash Sensation Spray Roses, Green Bell foliage, Dill, Eucalyptus, Pink Astilbe, wax flower.

Wooden boxes with lace , filled with White/green hydrangeas, Pink peonies, Pink Splash Sensation Roses, Pink Astilbe, Green Bell/ Dill Eucalyptus foliage were on guest tables.

Ivory candelabras in between the wooden boxes with a small ball of flowers + lots of glass bottles with more flowers. Some flowers were around a wooden crate being used as the wedding card box.

THE CAKE | Beautiful 3 tier cake from Abigail Bloom Cake Company displayed on a table in the middle of the dance floor with lace as an overlay.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Our photographer was just brilliant. I met Ben at a wedding 4 years ago and thought his photographs were amazing so I kept his number just in case! At our wedding he was incredibly discreet but some how managed to capture every moment of our day, we couldn't recommend him enough.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Being an Interior Designer detail and design are extremely important to me, I must have driven Bernadette mad but she kept her cool and helped me to stay focused on the important details. My main details were the flowers, everything was based around them... table names etc they had to be perfect. Lighting and candles were also an important detail, to make the marquee come to life. At first I was worried about having a marquee as I am not a particular fan, but on the day the marquee just looked incredible far beyond our wildest dreams and expectations.

THE HONEYMOON | For our honeymoon we did a 2 1/2 week road trip around Europe in Rob's sports car which is his pride and joy! We travelled through France, Switzerland down to Tuscany and then headed home along the French Riviera and up through Annacy, staying at the best hotels we could find! It was totally amazing and we loved every minute but not very relaxing and a few car troubles meant we had to fly home missing our last stop in Paris. The car had to be left in France to be delivered back home two weeks later!

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Everything about the day was wonderful and memorable, I don't have one in particular, although one of my favourite moments was when my horse, Puzzle was lead up to meet me when we arrived back from Spains Hall. Bless him, he looked so surprised to see me in an enormous white dress!!

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Our advice would simply be enjoy your day, it goes so incredibly quickly!
