Pretty rustic wedding in Charente, France

Pretty rustic wedding in Charente, France

via

Hello and welcome to another fabulous week on French Wedding Style, starting with the super pretty and rustic wedding in Charente for Kathleen and Lloyd. With an Austrialian bride and British groom it was sure to be an international wedding and so the couple chose a wedding in France, fitting as it was their first holiday that they went on together.

The wedding was at the beautiful Logis de Puygaty in Chadurie, South Charente, just outside of Bordeaux. Logis de Puygaty is a gorgeous fortified manor that dates back to the 15th century.

In order to help plan their destination wedding, Kathleen and Lloyd brought on wedding planners Marry Me in France to help plan and style the romantic affair. The beautiful pastel flowers were created by Fleurs de Famille and Kathleen looked stunning in her Jenny Packham dress and Jimmy Choo shoes, with her lovely bridesmaids looking lovely in peach.

The day itself was beautiful and eventful. Kathleen, Lloyd and their special guests experienced sunshine, intense heat, a dramatic sunset, torrential downpour, thunder and lightning all in one day, and it was all so very beautiful.

Kylee from Kytography was there to capture it all along with the guys from Deneemotion taking the cinematography.

Le Logis Pugaty was not on the list of venues we were planned to view during our visit ,it was a last minute recommendation by Beth from MMIF which was an amazing suggestion as we went inside the venue, we knew that this is the venue for us. It wasn't the typical French Chateau, it was chic and rustic with stunning decorations to die for. The owners of the venue were very charismatic and we just knew it was the right place. As soon as we got back to London, we called our wedding planner Sue and Beth and requested to put a deposit on the venue. The main source of inspiration regarding the style of our wedding is really from Pinterest and various online blogs which has been a great source of information. We didn't really use magazines anymore as everything seems to be online these days. For us, choosing the suppliers were quite easy, this is one of the advantages of having a wedding planner in France as they know all the local suppliers, they provided us with options and all we had to do is make decision based on our budget and what we like most. Such a cliché but I bought the first dress I tried on, I knew in my head and heart that it was always going to be Jenny Packham dress, the lovely soft silk and lace combination was definitely a winner in my eyes. My husband wore a Navy Blue Suits from Reiss London. We thought the combination of Navy Suits; Peachy coloured dresses for my bridesmaids were a great combination. As for the groomsmen we bought their suits from T.M Lewin in Navy Blue as well. As for the day, it couldn't have been more perfect, we had 3 types of weather during the day but it all happen at appropriate times from tropical sunshine during the ceremony and cocktail hours to magical thunderstorms with beautiful orange/ red sunset during dinner / disco. For us the most special part of our wedding is that we were very lucky to have shared this moment with our family and close friends from all corners of the world. We felt truly lucky and loved on our special day.

Bride Kathleen takes us through her big day and love story: "As a couple we have always wanted to do a destination wedding, France seems like the right place, it was the first country we visited as a couple and always had a special place in our hearts.

Lastly, my only recommendation is getting some professional help when getting married abroad, even if it's a Day coordination type of help. It really removes the stress from you and any guest traveling from a far. "
