Buitengeluk venue is a little gem in the heart of Fourways and their recent addition of the
Green House is the perfect backdrop for any small intimate garden wedding or event. As
they waited for their team to construct the Green House their heads where swarming with ideas on how to showcase this unique space. They could not wait to do something inside! A great team was put together to make this trendsetting shoot happen. Schantel Merwe captured the shoot together with Bespoke Blooms doing the beautiful flowers and Chrystalace Wedding Stationery who designed the stationery.

Using our gables on the main building, that tower above the gardens at Buitengeluk, as
inspiration, the look and feel of a typical Cape Dutch wedding flooded onto paper
and eventually into this styled shoot. For weeks we collected tea cups, planned our
menu, compared flower colours and the flow of the table. When the day finally dawned on us we knew that we had embraced the bold clean lines of the gables, the timelessness of the Delft blue and the softness of mixed blooms, showcasing vintage with a difference.

Tamyrin Lipjes from Bespoke Blooms shows how a botanical feel mixed in with soft
romance can be achieved. We built a structure for above the table, covered it in moss and then suspended yellow tulips upside down. Depth of texture can be created by choosing a slightly wider colourway: instead of sticking just to the core blue and yellow theme, she brought in huge green hydrangeas and yellow/orange pincushion proteas to add visual interest. We used the simplicity of the bare wood floor and the chairs that contrast beautifully with the elaborate ironwork of the glass structure, the romantic oversized table linen and the vintage collection of china and silver.

This styled shoot was not just about getting stunning images, but digging deeper with all of
the suppliers on set that day, looking at a vision and creating something beyond our
expectations. We could not have done this without all of our suppliers - everyone bought
something unique and interesting to the day.
