The great part of DIY is remodeling the furniture. You can find a lot of inspiration while searching the Web. In case you don't have tools to make something from the bottom up, you can always give to bought things a personal touch. Bri Emery runs the 'Design Love Fest' blog, she shows how you can design and redesign your interior. In cooperation with Natalie Shriver, she worked out the way of coloring shelves. She turned a few wood boards into colorful and elegance at once furniture. The method they showed seems to be very easy, you pick up colors of paint and wrap wood around with tape, and paint free spaces. This way you get straight lines in color you've chosen.
