Purple has been such a popular color for weddings lately. Although this could be somewhat predicted by Pantone claiming orchid to be the "color of the year," we've seen all kinds of purple shades, from the palest of lavenders to the deepest of eggplants. Here are a few lovely details to include in your own purple wedding.

As we all know, the very first clue your guests receive about your wedding's theme is the invitation. Hint at your romantic color palette whether it is dark shades of jewel-toned fabulousness (above) or muted and elegant in letterpress (below).

Of course, no detail in a purple wedding shines quite like the flowers. There is a dizzying array of purple florals to choose from. Above, a boho wedding calls out for wildflower bouquets this natural and voluminous. Make sure to include actual lavender, and your whole event will smell heavenly (plus help keep your nerves in check for your big debut down the aisle).

Lush arrangements of hydrangeas and roses (below) pair well with traditional weddings. The large scale of these also help fill the space at a roomy venue such as a church or garden.

Creating a magical purple tablescape is easy with the right shades. Layer lighter, grayer shades (like a smoky lavender) in the linens with peppier centerpieces in lilac and orchid. Purple is one of those colors that looks even more exceptional when combined with different shades. Just check out the bud vases below with roses in different purple hues. It's simple, but makes a beautiful statement.

Going for more of a modern effect? Brighten up an industrial space with vibrant shades, and mix it with lots of texture, such as with these braided linens below. Especially against string lights and brick, this palette will really pop!

When it comes to your favorite ladies, purple can be such a universally flattering color. Just make sure to find the right shade for all of them (above), or have them in several different shades (below) to make sure no one gets washed out.

And yes, there is purple fun for you, too. These sparkly-bowed shoes by Kate Spade are a super stylish option under your wedding dress.

The guys can also rock purple, and because it can serve as a neutral (depending on the shade), it can be worn well with navy, gray, or black.

Lastly, you could go for a variety of different berries for your purple-themed desserts, or you could choose a show-stopping ruffled ombre cake like the one below.
