If You Could Make a Little Girl's Walk Easier...Would You?

If You Could Make a Little Girl's Walk Easier...Would You?

Our EIC, Katie Martin, is forever giving back.

As a teenage missionary, Katie met so many special people. Over the years, she's kept in touch with many of them, but the most special of all of those relationships is with Wendy - who she met in a bible study. The two girls are now women with little girls of their own, and though they live thousands of miles apart, Katie and Wendy maintain a special place in each others hearts.

Wendy's daughter, Gema, was born with hip dysplasia. Misdiagnosed by doctors, her condition was treated with antibiotics which caused Gema to lose her hearing. In 2008, funds were raised to bring Gema to Maryland for a corrective hip surgery that gave her the chance to live as a normal girl.

Six years later, Gema requires a follow-up surgery to alleviate her excruciating physical pain and to enable her to walk on her own. Just a short week ago, Katie launched an incredible campaign for this very resilient and sweet little girl. Now she needs your help to raise the funds necessary to cover Gema's medical expenses for her surgery, as well as the travel costs to bring her and her mom from the Dominican Republic to Holy Cross Hospital for what we hope will be the last time.

Every donation will bring Gema one step closer to the life she deserves. With your help, her walk will be so much easier.

Will you?
