Amusing Wedding Details

via

Just because a wedding is a momentous occasion, doesn't mean you can't have a little fun. Whether it's a tad bit of tongue-in-cheek snark or just something bemusing and unexpected, laughter and weddings go hand in hand. Above, save yourself the hassle and cost of printing a menu. Setting the mood for the whole event, this may be my favorite place setting detail ever.

The easiest and most straightforward way to inject a little frivolity? Witty signage. Above, this print makes a terrific point. And no, I can't think of a single great story that started over mixed greens. Tequila? Now, that's another thing altogether. Place this sign at your bar table, and guests won't mind waiting in line for a cocktail.

The best kind of humor is that which is true. And if you need more than love and cake in your life, well, you need to examine some of your priorities! This chalkboard-style sign (below) is the perfect modern touch to any sweet table.

Who doesn't need a witty cake topper for their wedding? Serving a collection of double layer cakes? Place Little Miss Marie Antoinette on top or nearby for a little wink while your guests get a little sugar high.

And it's certainly not a celebration without a little "Whoop whoop" here and there. This gold topper utilizes two modern trends: humor and metallics.

Instead of boring old table numbers, why not assign famous quotes to each one? This wedding below was Napoleon Dynamite-themed, and these funny table "numbers" are just priceless.

The worst thing about dancing at a wedding? Your vodka cran is almost never there when you get back. Tell fellow guests to keep their hands off with these snazzy little coasters (below).

Some things are givens at weddings, no matter how hard you might try otherwise. There will be relatives who are terrible at telling stories. Someone will get a little cray cray on the dance floor after too many "just one more" drinks. And your guests will wait for you at some point during the reception. Make the downtime fun with one of these humorous wedding surveys (above) that serves as the best guest book alternative.

Also amazing is guest book Jenga. And having to write a super tiny message to you on a Jenga tile will make many-a-guest smile.

And sometimes humor is all about knowing your demographic. Room full of teachers? They will find this math-is-required seating chart very charming.

Another smile worthy detail are these beer bottle escort cards (above). This couple let their friends know from jump that this was going to be the party of the year. And the next morning, those friends would have been completely grateful for this hangover "recovery kit" wrapped in a muslin bag (below).
